I haven’t gotten through unpacking yet, but I was not happy with the way my things were packed in Waukesha. When we got here to CA, we found that almost every piece of my beautiful cherry bedroom set (which I have had for 18 years and have moved to two locations before this move without a scratch) was scratched and dinged in a multitude of places. When I booked with this service, I specifically told them that I had lovely wood furniture that needed to be wrapped - that’s why I rented blankets. Only the piano and ONE piece of my lovely bedroom set was covered, and that one was covered only because I saw the guys dropping the drawers out of it several times on the way to the truck, and told them to stop what they were doing because I wanted to look at the piece for damage. I told them to cover it, but by this time it was too late to have the other pieces covered as they were deep in the truck. So, that dresser suffered only the damage of the dropped drawers, which was minimal.
Other issues: One small antique table had the leg broken right off. My metal file cabinet drawers are completely insane — it will take me hours to go back through and refile. Obviously, the drawers fell out of this, too.
Here are some tips for the team: 1) If there are blankets, cover ALL wood furniture. That’s why I got blankets, duh. 2) REMOVE DRAWERS, MOVE FURNITURE INTO TRUCK, REPLACE DRAWERS. The team told me that my move was the only one they had that day, and I would much rather have paid them for the few extra minutes of work that this kind of care would have cost. As it is, I am very upset and will have to have repairs done on this furniture - which was hand made for me in Colorado when I lived there. I think, given the fact that the team had only been moving furniture for a month, a supervisor should have been present for more than just the piano move.

I will start by saying, they were on time, prepared for the job, and respectful of our things. However, I only felt that one of the helpers was actually working hard. The guy who packed the truck did a great job getting in all of our big stuff. I felt that my husband and I did more work getting things to the truck than one of the helpers did and we had hours of work ahead of us after they left. I was disappointed in the amount of work that was accomplished in the two hours they were with us. I would not use them again.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
Upon receiving your work order, we will enter your information into our system, which will generate an email to you, informing you of your booking. You will at the same time receive an email from HireAHelper letting you know that we have accepted your booking. This way both HireAHelper & Noah's Services will be letting you know of any changed to your move.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
We do everything we can to arrive on time, meaning the start of your one hour arrival window, yet if your move is later in the day, as you can imagine some moves do not go as planned and run over. This may cause us to arrive a little later then planned. We will contact you prior to being late. Yet once the crew has arrived, they will ask you for a walk through of what is going on, they will come up with a game plan, and THEN punch in from their phones at that time.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
The most important step in your move has nothing to do with boxes or tape! Make sure you are in communication with your movers! The more we know, is the more we can help you. If the day of the move, things you said would happen don't happen, it will result in more time meaning higher cost.
What types of moves have you handled?
We have helped people move one item across the street and across the country, we have also helped customers move their entire home across the street and across the country.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Being a mover, you never do the same things twice, ever! Even when moving the same customer, the weather, the trucks, the time of day is somehow different. So, instead of going to a job where you do the same old thing every day, moving is the opposite!
What training do you provide your crew members?
All crew members get paid for, hand over hand, training for the first 40 hours, online training, and provided with a mentor to oversee their learning, before they are ever put on a job without said mentor.
