I hired three movers for three hours to unload two ABF relocubes up to a third floor walkup apartment. The men were skilled, intelligent, and hardworking. They were a bit late because they had trouble finding my address, apparently because their GPS was not working. Does anyone use maps anymore? They called me to get directions, so I knew when they were coming. They were mostly careful and competent, but did bump the apartment walls a few times. Not enough to leave a mark though. There was an awkward moment at the end when the movers claimed to need a numeric code to get paid by hireahelper.com. I called the number hireahelper gave me, and hireahelper sent me a text message and email saying that safetymovers had now been paid. But the workers were rather anxious about this numeric code that I did not have. Perhaps the payment mechanism from hireahelper.com has changed recently? In any case, the move went smoothly and I would recommend these guys. I was a little concerned about the objectivity of the reviews here, after reading reports of them begging for five stars, and the many many "not enough stars" comment feedbacks, but the workers only mentioned the review process once.

What I didnt like is that the bossman / driver (whatever he was) approached my wife after the job was done, after the tip was given, and asked her for a tip for his guys. I did not like nor appreciate that. It's like he intentially went behind my back to talk to my wife and ask for a tip.. She arrived form work at the location after the job was done, I went to the back to get the workers some ice water and thats when she got approached. If I want to give a tip I will, but dont expect it. I was satisfied with the help, the "bossman's " actions ruined my impression. Leave it for the customer to decide if they want to leave a tip or not. It's more professional And dont approach the spouse that has nothing to do with the job asking for more money. ..

I would like to start out by saying though I count on reviews to assist me in my choices I rarely write one. I had a wonderful experience with Safety Movers. They were prompt and very skilled. Nothing was broken and that was a first not to mention reasonably priced. My request was at the last minute and they came through. I would recommend them to my friends and would consider using them again in the future.
