Fuse Movers and Relocations

One of the movers was running late. We called and updated customer and also assured him that the one mover on site Quinton can start with boxes and small items but anything big or heavy should wait until the second mover got there. I also informed Ted that his clock would not start until arrival of the second guy. Our initial scheduled crew member had car issues in route to the job and I called and explained that we would have his replacement there. Not even 10-15mins later I’m getting a call about scratches on walls while trying to move a couch. Quinton tells me he and Mr.Ted were trying to move it on and that was what caused the damage. I reiterate with my crews that on no account should that be attempted again even if the customer says they are able to handle the furniture piece. Again he was informed that his time would not start until the second mover arrived who had an eta of 40mins at the time and all this would have been avoided with a little patience.
When the second guy arrives when they stop after initially going against my directives they get done in about 35mins. So 40mins + 35 mins is 75mins. Move was booked for 2hr min which is 120mins so all this could have been avoided and the items unloaded in less time that was reserved. I did everything possible to assure him that his move will still be completed in good time despite the initial delay of the second movers arrival.
