Movers did NOT show up in the hour window. I had to text to find out where they were,, 2 minutes before the hour was up… the man (name not provided) from A.R.M.S called and had NO clue his team of 2 wasn’t working to load the rented Pod. I was told another team would arrive, where they were (20-30 minutes away with traffic), and an hour later I texted AGAIN, was told they had to reroute Bc of an accident!!! They arrived 1 hour and 32 minutes late.
As they arrived, Hire a Helper sent me an email that my contracted time was almost up and did I need another hour! OMG, Hore a Helper also told me we needed furniture blankets in order for our things to be covered by insurance, I was informed that the movers would assost in securing blankets, bc they had special training (which I paid an extra $ 50-60 for)We were on a deadline as the pod needed to be picked up by end of day.
Due to the undue stress, having to phone friends to come last minute and help,
and ARMs lack of customer service or knowledge that their employees were not where they were scheduled and didn’t communicate, I did not want to deal with this company!
I contacted Hire a Helper to cancel the unloading of the furniture. But bc it was not 24 hours before They charged me $124! The movers were contracted for unloading the next morning, 15 hours later! After spending 20 minutes on the phone with a Hire Helper representative, who was difficult to understand and who did not properly identify the reason for my cancellation (yes, hire a helper you can go and listen to your recording of the phone call!) he had a supervisors call. They offers 5% off my order- I’m the range of $16 and change! I laughed and said how ridiculous that was! My time is valuable and I would not recommend Hire a Helper - who then disseminates the orders to a peon company close to the job! They are not customer friendly! They did not inform me of sun-contracting to a company that would not have their act together!
Do not go through Hire a Helpwe or use ARMS if your around the capital
District in NY!

Worst first experience of my life!!!!
The movers came too early and started the time they came and didn’t even say they were outside.
They went into my personal groceries for my newborn and drank half a case of her water.
They packed stuff with said I didn’t want and put trash with my belongings.
They A.R.M.S moving company didn’t want to work for the 4 hours I paid for but said to get a refund my the last hour because they were not working the full amount of time.
When they decided to leave they didn’t notify me or close the truck they just left.
Hireahelper is the worst company to book movers.
They overcharged me for the movers, didn’t compensate me for the hour the movers refused to work and did not compensate me for the groceries these ppl helped themselves to.
Instead hireahelper told me I’m not allowed to file a complaint, well BBB HERE I COME!
