Jays' team showed up on time ready to go and worked hard for 2 hours. They were helpful and polite, I would use them again.

I chose Jay's because of glowing reviews. The glitch began the day I received the order confirmation. Jay said they would do Both the LOAD & the UNLOAD. H-A-H then called and said Jay would do load & someone else would do UNLOAD. Jay called to confirm he would do both orders. H-A-H apologized & confirmed. Jay's crew showed up next AM promptly and did a good job. Then they said that they could not follow U-Haul and do unload. I called Jay's and got a full mailbox and could not leave a message. I sent a text message - no reply. I spoke to Musha at H-A-H and he said he would TRY to contact Jay's and call me back. He DID not offer to provide a replacement mover - as per H-A-H guarantee. Over the next 3 hours, I sent several text messages to Jay's - since their mailbox was full and spoke with Musha & Robin at H-A-H. Finally at almost 1 PM, Robin suggested cancelling Jay's and she would get a replacement - which she did at nearly 2 PM . But she like Musha DID not call me to let me know. When I got replacement mover's contact information, I called and got a recording that said they would call back to confirm the move time within 24 hours! Since we had been waiting since 10:30 AM for crew to unload truck AND U-Haul and to be returned by 4 PM or we would be charged an extra day, I was ballistic. H-A-H called and said movers were on their way and KNEW that we had to return truck by 4 PM. Of course, they did not show until 3:35 PM - which by that time we had hired two men off the street and paid them - out of pocket to help us 4 women in our mid fifties- UNLOAD the truck so we could get it back to U--Haul on time. All this grief could have been avoided if Jay's movers had called us & H-[A-H at 10:30 AM to cancel and request a replacement ASAP! The next day, Jay sent me an e-mail with 4 attached pictures and his explanation that he had injured his hand and did not have his cell phone with him to make any contact calls. In my complaint claim that I filed with H-A-H, I pointed out the irony that the uninjured hand that took the pictures could have just as easily made two phone calls. H-A-H did refund all charges and both Jay and they apologized. I expected no less BUT it DID NOT in any way mitigate the anger, distress and frustration we experienced. I would not recommend Jay's movers due to his complete lack of communication business skills. I would rate H-[A-H staff person Musha a #3 for not returning calls and going to lunch while a customer has problems and for not suggesting a cancellation and replacement at 10:30 AM - when the trouble started. I rate Robin, the second H-A-H staff person at #7. She was proactive and helpful. I would have rated her higher if she had called me to tell me had a replacement ASAP. I would not use this mover again EVER!! No one should ever have a moving day like the one we experienced - and it was 101 degrees in Riverside that morning! I would, with reservation, recommend H-A-H if you can deal with an experienced and professional staff person.
