I’ve hired movers in the past and this experience was not as productive as prior moves that I’ve hired movers for. I’m particularly frustrated with the fact that I still tipped $20 for two hours at the end, asked what we’d be charged and were told 2 hours and 15 mins. Then they reported 2 hrs 45 minutes to Hire A Helper. Not a great way to do business. Hire A Helper took care of this discrepancy for us. I would not use On the Move again but I would use Hire A Helper again.

I appreciate these guys for helping me with my move. It was some hard work for a second floor apartment and I definitely couldn’t have done it on my own.
However, there were some issues. First, they were about 3-4 hours late (depending on how you calculate the window). From what I understand the previous job took longer than expected — which I understand, but communication would’ve been nice. I was stuck waiting around for hours not knowing if or when they would show up.
Once arrived, they didn’t come with their dolly. They eventually got one, but by that time my paid two hours were almost up. With a lot of stuff left, I had to pay for an additional hour. I’m pretty confident that if they had the dolly, I wouldn’t have had to pay extra. Even with the additional hour, I still ended up having to carry a few things up myself so I didn’t have to pay for another.
Like I said, I appreciate the hard work, but there was a serious lack of communication and preparation.

Make sure everything is packed and seperated. (What stays and what goes) Also make sure there is a clear path for the movers and all pets are put away.

We accept next day requests at our normal rates.
