- Unbelievably slow - so you have to pay for more hours

This company has low rates but it’s a scam. They move intentionally slow to drag out the first 2 pre-paid hours, so you have to pay for additional hours.
For example, they had a dolly, but they took each box down one by one. I had less than a one-bedroom apartment worth of stuff. They brought none of their own equipment, they said they would. They started the clock but wouldn’t start to work until they saw the inside of the moving truck (a standard U-Haul) & insisted we move it so that it was blocking in my neighbors’ cars.
They were moving so slow that my kids, my 2 friends, & 1 started bringing boxes down to move them along. Who knows how long it would have taken them without that?
They not only took over 4 hours, but they also damaged a lot of furniture. They pushed a metal table across the top of an antique secretary gauging it all the way across. They put a mirror directly against wood instead of in between the mattress & box springs, scratching the wood. Did I mention this was my childhood bedroom set that I was planning to give to my oldest daughter?
MJ, the project manager, said he would take $100 off but then would not honor his word. He began minimizing the damage & blaming it on me, saying that the movers said that my stuff was old, & I was getting rid of it anyway. I never said that, & doesn’t that confirm that his movers did a careless job?
He said I didn’t provide enough blankets but a) I provided plenty but they were inexperienced & didn’t know how to wrap furniture & b) how would blankets have helped when they literally shoved the dresser with the mirror still attached through the doorway leaving paint on the mirror & ripping the weather stripping off of the door when they could have just taken the mirror off the dresser LIKE WE ASKED THEM TO.
At first, I asked for a total refund but then decided his offer was fair, but he wouldn’t answer my messages. When he did, he just kept making excuses. I wish I could attach screenshots of the text message chains where he tried to turn things around on me. No integrity.
I will never use this company again.

I decided at the last minute to rent a U-Haul for my move rather than go with an expensive moving company. (I saved over $1,000. This was for a small move across town - I can't imagine how much someone would save for a larger move.)
The two guys showed up on time (one was even there early, so be prepared for that), and in short order they walked through the house, devised a plan, and started carrying items out. We hired them for 4 hours total to load and unload, which included drive time.
They were courteous, helped problem solve some tricky logistics like an immovable dog gate that required them to lift a heavy dresser practically over their heads, and were totally comfortable with us "helping" here and there.

They were wonderful! They stayed in contact with frequent updates about any delays that occurred. The team showed up and expertly loaded and packed the truck to make a long journey and while they packed the truck extremely quickly they treated all possessions with the utmost respect. I would absolutely recommend and hire them again!
