The two movers showed up on time…. I used them as PODS suggested them, I asked how long to unload a 16’ POD… 2 hours but sometimes less sometimes more. I assumed they would unload the entire POD and if it took longer than two hours, I would pay their hourly difference for any extra time.
At an hour and a half of time worked, Marc informed me they had another job and they were going to leave at exactly 2 hours!!!
They left exactly at 2 hours having completed approximately 80% completed. I would normally tip, but Marc and the other helper left without even acknowledging their departure.
To say I was pissed and angry….
Just not supporting their customer!
This was not the case with this move. The customer scheduled a 2-hour move and was notified the day before that we could not be there beyond 2 hours. Knowing this, I offered to reschedule the move for the next day when we had more flexibility in our schedule, and he refused.
On the day of the move, with 1 hour remaining on the job, I reminded the customer that we could not be there beyond 2 hours. He offered to pay us $120 to complete the job; however, we could not because our next job was 45 minutes away and the family would be waiting for us at a storage unit.
The customer was aware of our departure because he signed the completion form before we left.
Time boundaries are established for moves to enable high-quality service for every customer. This high-quality service was provided for you, and leaving at the scheduled time that day enabled us to also provide the same level of service to the customer after you.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?
We take a team-based approach to every move, and the level of efficiency we can achieve greatly depends on how ready the customer's belongings are. To help ensure a smooth and timely process, we ask that all items be fully packed in boxes of containers before our team arrives. Helpful tip: Fully pack each box; a well-packed box is less likely to collapse and is more stable when stacked to form a secure wall inside the moving truck or container. This helps to protect your belongings.
