I'm only giving 2 stars because what items they actually did pack in a pod were done well. When they showed up, Marc immediately started rushing my mom and I to pack boxes faster, but there was plenty of furniture they could have been wrapping/packing in the pod. I had explained to him upon arrival that this was a stressful time and not a wanted move for us, so I told him we didn't need that pressure from him given the situation. Instead of wrapping our furniture, they proceeded to carry everything out of the house to have it all over the place; the porch, sidewalk, driveway, and WET grass. When I spoke to Marc about us not liking our solid wood and glass furniture sitting outside exposed and not even wrapped, he got offended that I, a woman, was telling him what to do with MY furniture that I am paying him to handle with respectand care. I had also pointed out a group of items upon their arrival that were not to be packed, but he did not listen to me and started packing those items away. When I asked about a couple items being gone, he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about and proceeded to get an attitude with me that I was questioning him. He got upset because how dare a woman talk to him that way because he "doesn't deal with that from his own woman." So he quit halfway through the job and proceeded to talk badly of me to my dad, to which my dad told him to leave.
I do not recommend hiring them if you are a woman or if your house won't be pristinely boxed with all furniture already wrapped before they arrive.

As a part of our customer service, we focus highly on quality and cost savings. We are aware and sensitive to the fact that people move for various reasons. We celebrate with customers when they are moving into a new home, and it affects us when people are moving for other reasons like they're unable to care for themselves, a spouse has transitioned, etc. We are not only movers, we are people with shared experiences. As a result, we give respect to all customers no matter their race, gender, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, etc.

Part of this high-quality customer service includes calling customers prior to the move to confirm their readiness. If customers state they are not ready, we try to reschedule at a more convenient day and time as we are aware that moving can be a challenging process. When I called you the prior day, you confirmed that you were ready. However, upon arrival on the moving day, this was not the case as you were still packing boxes. This is supported by your statement in your review.

The importance of having everything packed is because the moving process is strategic. It requires looking at everything that needs to be loaded compared to the space in which it is to be loaded. This helps confirm that there is enough space, and if loaded correctly, it could also help save money to decrease the number of pods or moving containers.

You had 5 pods and one 26-foot truck that needed to be loaded. There were 3 moving companies that were hired prior to us, and 1 moving company was present while we were there. The first task on our arrival, per your request, was to reload one of the 5 pods to correct what was previously done by another moving company. The moving process requires organization, and had our company been involved earlier in the process to help you properly plan this move, it may have cost you less time and eliminated your frustration.

There is no money great enough to deal with disrespect which is why we chose not to work beyond the 2 hours for which you hired us although it was offered to us. While we come into contact with personal items and we are invited into people's lives during the moving process, we are a business, and we maintain professional boundaries in spite of a customer's inability to do so. Through your words, you solidified why we did not work beyond the 2 hours for which we were hired.

Matt and Matt were great. They were quick and efficient and didn't give me anything to worry about at all. I even had some pieces of glass from a very special and important curio cabinet that needed wrapped for protection and I had stressed for days about it. I did the cabinet as well because most of it is glass as well and its huge.
I had no idea how to protect it really. But they took care of getting them packed and packed safely before I could hardly blink. I'm not worried about them at all now. You hear stories about movers messing things up by running into walls or corners but that wasn't even a thing. Not even when they had to get a rather large upholstered chair down a flight of very steep stairs. They did that like it was nothing as well and they had to work around a stair lift which gave them even less room to work with. And they were really nice guys. Very personable. I am very pleased with how it all went. Definitely recommend Tip Top movers.

On moving day, you can expect our team to arrive on time and ready to work. Every item is loaded or unloaded with a focus on protection and safety--for both your property and our crew.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?

We take a team-based approach to every move, and the level of efficiency we can achieve greatly depends on how ready the customer's belongings are. To help ensure a smooth and timely process, we ask that all items be fully packed in boxes of containers before our team arrives. Helpful tip: Fully pack each box; a well-packed box is less likely to collapse and is more stable when stacked to form a secure wall inside the moving truck or container. This helps to protect your belongings.
