Peter and his crew at Alhood Van Lines are awesome! I hired them to help me unload a PODS container and they were very friendly, quick, and professional. I had made a mistake while scheduling the move date and Peter was very accommodating in getting some movers to help me almost a week early. He even helped me look into a same day booking fee that was mistakenly applied to my invoice by Hireahelper, which has since been resolved and refunded to me. I would definitely do business with these guys again. Thanks Alhood Van Lines!

I had really great communication with Peter beforehand, and felt excited about having hired Alhood for the job. The workers arrived on time and prepared for the job. During the job, they did everything we asked them to we do. However, we felt as though the workers had a slightly reluctant approach to their work during our job. There were a couple of items broken upon arrival/unable to fit in our house (which is absolutely not their fault!) but we felt like they were not entirely respectful of our goods when sharing that certain items would not fit in the house/were broken. I would have liked a bit more enthusiasm and care for our items. It was not a bad experience overall - just left me feeling a little disappointed.

The crew was respectful and careful with everything in my move. Although, compared to other moving crews I've used, they were a little on the slow side.

Came in with the mind set that they were going to over the two hours. Took breaks. We’re tired as job was done at the end of the day. Lead mover was less knowledgeable about assembling furniture than his assistant. Poor teamwork and communication between the two.

Yes , they were on time.
No, they were not prepared for the job.
2 workers worked hard and 2 did not. I had to jump in and work along side them to get the job going and I was still charged for 1.25 of an hour extra. I felt they slow rolled me for the extra time/money.
No, did not cover wood staircase.
NO! I would not use them again, EVER!

Almost went to blows with the Lead worker because I would not sign off on their contract, Indemnifying them for any and all damage. They didn't take the 6 bags of trash with them. I had to threaten to call the Police to get them to quit harassing me after I refused to sign their Indemnification form.

I just read this review & I'm disappointed but I expected something like this. First of all, the crew he had is great & they all work very hard. They're responsible for many of our 5 star reviews. All of them had worked for him loading the pods 10 days earlier & he was happy enough to ask us back for the unload. Secondly, he booked 4 hours & the job took 5.25 - a very reasonable time for unloading 4 - 16' pods. Also, our van was packed full with materials, gear, & crew, so there wasn't a speck of room left to take his trash. We would have happily taken it if we had room, even though it's not our responsibility to do so. Finally, he insisted it was our responsibility to take the trash & he refused to sign the contract & got nasty with the crew. He never mentioned indemnification or the time - it was about the trash. He told me on the phone that he simply wouldn't pay us at all, until the trash was removed. I offered to come back to get it (70 miles round trip) but told him, since it wasn't included with his order, there would be an additional charge, as he did not order, or pay for, debris removal. Thankfully, with the help of the people at Hire a Helper, we ended up getting paid for our time. This was such a simple situation that could've been so easily remedied & I was very sorry that it ended the way it did. Peter Wottowa, owner.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?

Our customers will receive an introductory email & phone call to review details & materials important for a safe & efficient move. We will call a day or two before the move to confirm the date & arrival time.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?

Your crew will call en route with an updated arrival time. At your home the crew will do an initial wallk through to review items to be loaded & they will prep your home's floors, railings & doors with tarps & protection. The walk through is the time to point out any items or areas that need special attention - such as antiques, attics, etc.

We charge an extra 10% for same day requests.

Next Day Moves

We accept next day requests at our normal rates.

Refunding Unused Time

We refund for any unused time over our min..

Extra Hours

We can always stay at least 1 hour over the prebooked time.
