The two young gentlemen who moved me on Saturday October 29, 2011 ( when it was snowing) were Great!

If I ever move again I would use this service again!

Mover's response:
Rain, snow, and earthquakes won't prevent you from moving as scheduled if you choose The Moving Guides. Thanks again!

We couldn't have asked for anyone that would have done a better job. They were courteous, efficient, excellent attitude, worked hard, took care of all possessions and were all around G R E A T!! I would recommend them to everyone and would absolutely use them again. Thank you so much.

Carter (the dispatcher? Owner?) was great, and the movers showed up on time, but they were slow, and showed very little "hustle." We made it clear that we only wanted two hours (hey, we're poor students) but when we asked them to please either try to speed up or move the heavier stuff first, they told us we were "rushing" them. In the end we were left to move the bulk of the really big stuff ourselves as they quit two hours ON THE DOT after they got there. I don't know what type of science is behind their "scientific loading method," but it must involve time travel, since a job that took the two guys who moved us in less than an hour didn't remotely get done in that time, despite an elevator. They were nice people, but I wouldn't hire them again.

The Moving Guides were great. They worked quickly and carefully. This is my second time using them and I remain happy with their work and would recommend them to anyone else.

These guys were A-1, they were energetic, cooperative and worked great together as a team.

The 2 young men who helped us move were excellent! They were quite strong, very careful, and just really pleasant despite some last minute replanning. It was a long day - 12 hours - but they were pleasant and willing the entire day. I have already recommended them to my neighbor.

Pap and Chris were very good to work with. I had purchased 11 cabinets from Habitat for Humanity ReStore and needed them moved into the condo I am re-modeling.

They arrived on time and came prepared to get the job done, including bringing the proper equipment.

They were careful with the items they were moving as well as condo building property.

I would definitely use Moving Guides again and would request they send Pap and Chris.

Please note: I am trying to post a one-star review for The Moving Guides and a five-star one for A&A Moving. However there seems to be a bug on this site that mixes up my two reviews.

I can't really review The Moving Guides, because they didn't show up. They also didn't call to let me know they weren't showing up.

When their scheduled arrival time had passed, I called their contact number, which was apparently the proprietor's residence. It was 8:30 a.m. or so on a weekend, so he was fast asleep when I called and I had to wake him up. He had no idea what was going on or where his movers were. I called again at 9 and he said their car had broken down. I asked for their contact info and he declined to give it but said the movers would contact me. When they hadn't contacted me by 9:30 or so, I called again, but he just stopped taking my calls. Finally I called HireAHelper and asked them to find me another mover, which they did.

So my experience with The Moving Guides was thoroughly awful. It wasn't JUST that they didn't show up; I guess that if they had some kind of emergency they couldn't help it. It's that they didn't bother to let me know what was going on, so that I spent hours sitting in a packed apartment waiting for them, not knowing what to do, and not able to reach them--and wondering what I was going to do if they didn't show.

Thankfully, I had a very good experience with A&A Moving, the movers who stepped in to cover this job. I also had a great experience with Katy, the HireAHelper lady who rescued me from the mess that The Moving Guides made by not showing up, and found me another mover in time to move. Thanks, Katy, and A&A!

This group wasn't my first choice based on other reviews but I really liked the pair that showed up and helped me out. They did a good job moving things and got done well under the two hour minimum. We coordinated the timing based on my flexibility and when the rain stopped. They didn't start until Irene was gone. They helped me put together furniture and were really willing to take care of as much as possible inside as well. They took reasonable breathers on a hot day and seemed to work together relatively well. There was definitely a senior guy and a junior guy and that seemed to help. The took good care of my furniture and I didn't have any problems.

The movers were EXCELLENT... I can't express it enough. They helped move my furniture in less than two hours and they were behind schedule because of Hurricane Irene Traffic. Which is understandable, but the fact that they still came out in the mist of a dangerous storm says a lot, and I was very pleased with the service. Thanks Again!
