First let me say that my family has used the services of hire a helper,three times in the last year. This was the second time with gentle hands.The first time we used them they were fabulous. The guys worked really hard. They were done 2 hours earlier than i expected the job to take. I asked hire a helper If I could pay only for the hours used and they said no. So please beware.
Now to this last move that I am reviewing today. the guys were very nice and they showed up on time, They must have had a lot of new guys. It was a large move and I hired four men to help. A guy called before the move to verify everything and said they had handtrucks and dollies and blankets but he failed to advise that we had to request these. I had already packed my computer so I had no way to look them up online as far as needing to request these. So when they showed up I had to run out and get blankets and shrink wrap. We had a lot of stuff but as they did not have any equipment with them they carried one box at a time. They were careful with most everything, unless this one crew guy carried it. they would tell him he's doing it wrong and he would argue back. This went on relentlessly throughout the move. then the same guy that would argue, dropped my VERY EXPENSIVE fishtank down the stairs. The lead crew guy took pictures but Its been over a month and we still have not heard from the company. I called the company a couple of days after the move for the following reasons: the move went over the requested time of four guys for four hours and the owner of the company tried to charge us 106.00 for the extra hour when the website clearly said 97.00. The owner was obnoxious and said the 97.00 overage charge only applied IF you went through hire a helper? My husband spoke with him on the phone and they came to an agreement that we would be charged 97.00. a few days alter a charge goes through for 103.00. My mom, who referred this company to him called him and he was ignorant. He said that my husband said that the damage to the fishtank was"no big deal" and that he didn't think we wanted it replaced. IT WAS SMASHED COMPLETELY.. Then he went on to say he told my husband that he was charging us a 3% charge fee for paying with a credit card. This never came up in the conversation. I never had as much damage to my personal belongings as
I have had with this move. Please buy the insurance. We reported to Hire a Helper that gentle hands put through an un- authorized charge and they could of cared less. WORST MOVE EVER!!!!!!! I will update this review IF the owner of

Not sure if your aware but you're husband told us he was not concerned about the fish tank after we offered to fix it. We are fully licensed and insured so we had no problem fixing this. Also, we do charge by the hour and hire a helper is a discount site our hourly charges outside of hire a helper are not the same and we told you this going in to the additional hour. We are sorry about your small 3 gallon fish tank we would be more then happy to replace this please call us.

I was in a time crunch and these folks really delivered. I booked them at eight in the evening and they were at my apartment the next morning. They were able to move all my large pieces within an hour. They were careful and helpful. They asked a lot of questions to make sure everything ended up in the right place. I would very much recommend them.

these guys were very professional,used care with my furniture and were lightning fast. I would highly recommend this company and crew. I hope when I move again that they are still around. Last time I moved it took over 5 hours and I had a lot of damage.
