crew was supposed to show up between 9-10. Received a text the night before, asking if ok to be there at non due to some car issues. Next morning they tried to reschedule me to Sunday, but I had already rented a moving truck and was waiting for them to show. Finally at 5:30pm two movers showed up, one experienced and one first time on the job. They were both very courteous and apologetic, got right to work. I would have giving a higher score had they been on time and had dining room table pedi stool not been broken. Still waiting to hear from HireAHelper on any type of settlement. I would not recommend going through HireAHelper unless we are able to get a settlement for our broken furniture. It just adds more complications with scheduling and a fee that is not necessary. Disappointed with how this move went overall.

We’re suppose to have 2 guys for 3 hrs, 10-1pm. They called and said running late would be between 11-12pm. Well they called to say the guys went to another job and gave me credit for 1 of the 3 hours and said it would be between 4-5pm before they could be there. Well at 4:50 I called to see where they were and was told they were on their way probably in traffic. 2 guys arrived at 5:54 and worked until 6:25 and then said they were leaving. The guys were inexperienced at loading. Put heavy stuff on top of lightweight stuff so when they left my husband had to rearrange pretty much all they had loaded. We had a uhaul truck rented for the day and due to the help not showing up in the morning we had to keep it another day so then cost us another $150.00 for that. On top of that Christen movers tried to bill us for the 2 hr minimum which we didn’t even get and were threatening me with legal action if I didn’t sign the invoice. I told them when the billing was corrected I would approve which was done on Monday. Don’t use this company if you need help because you’ll be waiting all day. I still need help moving but am afraid of trying any of these companies due to this bad experience.

They were very polite and were not reckless with my belongings. One of the men did not feel good. They were late, They did not have proper equipment (hand truck/dolly) and they did not pack the pod adequately in my opinion. I did not get my monies worth IMO. I would not use them again.

My attempted move with Christian Veteran Movers was doomed from the start.
1.) We scheduled a Sunday morning move, and they confirmed the move. Friday at 4:30 pm, I get a text saying that my time was already booked (no apology or anything). When I called into Hire a Helper, they said that someone wanted to change their move time so they were bumping me out of my spot. The customer service representative was able to get me scheduled for an afternoon move with them though so I changed my uhaul reservation time and hoped for the best.
2.) The next morning, I get a text saying they are bringing a furniture dolly and hand tools (which costs an extra $20, and we already had everything broken down so we didn't need them). I told them we just needed the furniture dolly and hand truck that we requested, and we didn't need them to bring the hand tools as we didn't need them and didn't want to pay the extra fee. They said that I was paying for the hand tools even though I didn't select them in my order and they were bringing them, and I had to pay extra if I wanted the hand truck. When I sent them a screenshot of their page that said the hand truck was included for no fee, they suddenly switched course and said it was unavailable so we said we would go get one because the move was the next day.
3.) At 10:54 (two hours before my 1-2 pm window), I get a call from Hire a Helper asking if I had heard from Christian Veteran Movers today. I said no, and he sounded surprised and apologized and told me that my move was canceled. I understand they canceled it because one of the movers was sick. However, they couldn't even be bothered to tell me! They would have just let me sit there and wait all day if Hire a Helper hadn't reached out to try to help me find someone else.
I am actually kind of glad they canceled because everything had been such a disaster so far that I really didn't want them moving me. I can't imagine how bad the actual move would have ended up being.
I understand people get sick and moves get canceled, but Christian Veteran Movers change things repeatedly and don't communicate important information. Don't let their low prices and nice name fool you. It isn't worth it to have this much drama and stress added to your move.
This is my third move with Hire a Helper. My other two moves were amazing (but that moving company wasn't available for me this time around). Hire a Helper took very good care of me during this move and got me another company at the same price on the same day so I still recommend you booking through them, just don't choose these movers!

The helpers came on time and unloaded my container in record time without damaging anything. They were polite and courteous.

The guys were nice enough that were sent out Howerton they were not prepared. No dolly, no hand truck, etc….I had to help them move the stuff out and get them things to put boxes on just so that it didn’t go over the two hour limit. Very unorganized.

Two young men started working as soon as they arrived. A little disappointed that they did not have a furniture hand truck to move the heavy items in (refrigerator, desk, couch, and easy chairs).

You will receive 5 star customer service and a crew that will work hard to get your move done in the time you booked. We also have very polite and honest crews that will go above and beyond to assist you throughout the entire process.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
For moving day we ask all customers to have items ready to be loaded or unloaded. If you have to pack during the move it may take extra time and extend your move past your previous booked time.
What types of moves have you handled?
We have done over 300 moves to date in all different aspects of moving. There's not a move we will not be prepared for and have not done.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
We love being able to help customers in a time of need and to make the moving process alot simpler and smoother.
What training do you provide your crew members?
We provide our crew with a two day training where we teach our way to pack and wrap furniture but also how to pack pods and trucks.
