Moving can be exhausting and relying on friends/family is not always the most reliable solution. That is why we founded Rent The Help. Rent The Help provides homeowners and businesses with a reliable and professional solution to their moving labor needs. Founded in the fall of 2011, Rent The Help has assisted over 6,500 customers in the Richmond, VA area. Our core customer needs extra muscle for 2-4 hours. Whether you need help moving a few pieces of furniture around the house, or loading a moving truck, Rent The Help can supply the extra muscle to complete your project. Our people are what make Rent The Help special. Our team is made up of college students, graduate students, firefighters, and other professionals seeking a part time opportunity that offers a strong culture and a flexible work environment.

Tucker and Josiah were very efficient and took their time with our things and problem solve to make sure everything was secure and did not move while in the process of loading our pod we were really pleased that even when we left to get some straps for the pod they continue to work without any direction and was really working together well to make sure our stuff was done in a timely manner and secure safely in the pod.

Tevin Collins and Turner Jordan actually arrived a couple of minutes early...were extremely polite and worked quite hard the entire time they were with us. They were prepared for the job, efficient and very careful with our household items, Without a doubt, we would request them the next time! That is how happy we were with Tevin and Turner. The two gentlemen were on time and worked hard to quickly move our items. Luckily we had purchased a cart/ dolly for moving but if we hadn't I am not sure they would've been able to complete the job in time. I would've thought that for the price I was paying I was getting professionals with their own equipment to do the job. I instead I got two college kids that I could've hired on task rabbit or Craigslist for way cheaper.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
Someone from our office will reach out within a few hours of receiving your request. If you happen to reserve Rent The Help at night, or on the weekend, someone from our office will give you a call on the next business day.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
Once your order is confirmed, you will begin to receive messages from our automated system. Prior to your move you will receive an email and text message with a link to confirm your appointment. Once you click confirm you will see pictures of your crew. On moving day our team will arrive in RTH shirts (either blue, green, or gold).
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Since customers are paying for our services on a per hour basis, we recommend being prepared when our team arrives. Upon booking you will receive moving tips that will help you prepare for your move date. The more prepared our customers are, the more efficient our team will be as they load/unload your moving truck.
What types of moves have you handled?
Rent The Help's primary focus is providing an affordable and professional solution to customers who have small moving jobs. While we can handle large jobs, our primary focus are jobs in the 2-4 hour range. Small loads, unloads, or furniture moves.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Our guys love meeting new people and helping them navigate an extremely stressful time. Every day is a new adventure and we embrace that.
What training do you provide your crew members?
Every team member goes through hands-on training that requires staff to pass their training program prior to being staffed on a job. We have 3 different tiers of team members and schedule them based on the type of move/service the customer requests.
