These folks did a fantastic job. They showed up on time, were careful, and were able to get everything in the truck for my move. Now onto my destination and hopefully those movers are as good as these folks were.

I had three 16 ft containers, each almost full, to move into my one story home. Hired this company for 7 hours. All was ok until about the 4 hour mark, then they kept trying to leave. Yes, even though I prepaid for 7 hours - they kept trying to leave. Their company sent them lunch, but they would not stop and eat it. I kept having to closely supervise every single task that I still needed completed. Furniture and large items were left in the middle of rooms. They tried to assemble things as quickly possible BECAUSE THEY WERE READY TO LEAVE. I needed help with my move and booked plenty of time so it would not be stressful and rushed. Instead I felt like I had two teens trying to get out of cleaning their room. So for my 7 hours, I received 3 hours of moving labor help, one hour of rushed dumping stuff into the garage and one hour of stressful “what next?” While they wanted to make a break for the open road. I would recommend this company.

This company moved me in 3 years ago and did such a great job I hired them to load. Quick and efficient, they loaded my Packrat container within the time frame. Everything was tied down securely and I’m confident it will make the move cross country safely. I highly recommend!

I had an east coast to west coast move from FL to CA. As everyone that has moved before knows this is a huge stressful undertaking. To ease my stress and prevent further injury to my bad back, I booked loaders. PODs referred me to Hire A Helper for this service and I booked two people for two hours to load my 7ft POD. The POD is not huge and I had mostly boxes and a few pieces of furniture.

I originally booked for 9am-10am window but I was contacted by the loaders that they need to move it it 10am-11am a few days before. I had plans to drive 2.5 hours away the same day to see my sister and do last minute dropping off of things before my long flight the day after. With every move there are errands to run to make sure the place is left in good condition, return cable boxes, dump trash and etc. At 11:12am I received a call that the helpers are held up at a previous job and wont get to me until maybe 1:30pm. I explained to the owner I have other things to take care of and that doesn't work for me. I'm already being pushed back the first time, and I need the help asap. She offered to come herself with a family member to load up the POD. She didn't apologize once on the phone and said she is only an hour and 15 minutes away. I reluctantly agreed, as I had no other choice. I didn't go run errands because she made it seem she would be there soon. That wasn't the case. I called her back at 12:55pm to ask her ETA and she said she was 5 minutes away. The frustration is now at an all time high. I wasted time waiting when I could've done other things to make this process smoother. I was nervous businesses would be closed before I could wrap up everything I needed to do before moving. I also had a 2.5 hour drive ahead of me and wanted to avoid rush hour.

She finally arrives at 1pm with a teenage girl to load up the POD. She STILL never apologized for the delay, the lack of professionalism or anything. She finished the job in 1.5 hours. She was more concerned on making small talk instead of taking responsibility and to at least apologize. I was highly disappointed in the service and made my move even more stressful. Hiring a service is supposed to ease your stress. For the amount of money I paid it wasn't worth the frustration. I had to rush to make it to the companies I needed to before they closed and fought traffic all the way to my destination. It caused a huge negative ripple effect to other things I had to take care of that day.
The kicker is that the owner put the padlock on the latch for the POD. I trusted that she knew what she was doing because she has packed so many PODs before as she mentioned. I noticed the latch didn't go all the way and she said it couldn't. I trusted that the holes matched up properly, put the padlock back on, lock it and proceed to rush to complete my errands and drive 2.5 hours away. The POD would be picked up the next day. The next day I get a call and was told the POD wasn't locked and the latch wasn't pushed all the way. So I had to drive 2.5 hours back to close it properly because they won't move it without it being locked and secured. So I wasted 5 hours the next day to close a latch. It seems the previous day shenanigans followed me into the next day. Thank goodness I flew out the following day or this would have been an even worse nightmare. This was one the worst moves I ever had! Trust is very fickle and it's not worth it to give out to anyone that doesn't respect your time.
I wouldn't use them again because of this whole interaction. If you want an accountable, punctual and trustworthy company, I would use someone else. I won't be using this platform anymore as well.

Once again I wanted to apologize to you, as soon as myself (Annessa) and my helper, Alyssa (21) pulled up on the job, I introduced myself apologizing. Moving is very stressful, so I understand if you don't remember!! Your crew stayed on their first job more than one hour after the pre-booked time. The movers didn't want to leave the other customer hanging. I have explained to my crew that this can never happen again! You are absolutely right to be upset!!!! All my crews and under very strict rulse now. WE ONLY CAN STAY 1 HOUR PAST THE PRE-BOOKED TIME. Future customers, we block off your time frame with the extra hour, due to scheduling our movers CAN NOT stay any longer. As far as the lock on your container, we left before the container was locked. I was loading equipment when you were opening the lock, and never placed the lock on the POD. I am very sorry that this happened to you! I can only imagine the stress you were under, here at AMAM we like to provide stress free moves.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?

After booking with us you can expect a phone call from our offices just to reach out and get a feel for your unique situation. We will go over all needed supplies and firm up all the details.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?

Upon moving day you will receive a call from your movers within an hour of your booked arrival window. The movers will reach out just to make sure everything is still going according to plan and will give you their expected GPS arrival time. We know that nothing is more stressful than being nervous that the movers aren't gonna show up, so we like to put your mind at ease.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?

If you will be hiring us to load your rental truck, trailer or portable shipping container it is imperative that you provide an adequate amount of moving blankets, plastic stretch wrap and rope to avoid serious damage to your items. The blankets can usually be rented with your truck or portable shipping container and are worth every penny. We can provide rope and plastic wrap for an additional fee or it can be purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot in the moving supplies section.

What types of moves have you handled?

We have handled literally every type of move from local to long distance, from household to office/commercial. We have handled everything from medical equipment to flight simulators and we are equipped to move large items such as pianos and grand pianos.

What's your favorite part about being a mover?

Our favorite part about being movers is that we get to help someone with literally the hardest and most stressful task of their adult life.

What training do you provide your crew members?

All of our crew leaders are required to have a minimum of 4 years professional moving experience and upon hire, undergo at least 2 weeks of training with the owner of the company (a very particular veteran mover in the industry) before being set free to operate independently. All crew members undergo the same training and we typically only hire crew members who possess at least 2 years minimum professional moving experience. We don't send rookies, period.

Plastic wrap:
Plastic Wrap is used to band furniture blankets/pads to furnishings. Proffesional opinion would be that no smooth move can be preformed without plastic wrap or moving blankets., ($30.00/ea.)
Rope:
$10 per 50ft. Rope is needed in basically EVERY moving scenario. Failure to use rope will more than likely result in shifting of load and damages to furnishings occurring., ($10.00/ea.)
