We selected J & M Moving from the list of possibilities on Hire a Helper based on prior reviews, and their claim to come equipped to meet our packing needs in a professional manner. The workers showed up on time. There were actually 3 rather than the two we had contracted for. While packing our stuff I truly believed that they worked hard. While doing a walk through of our house they seemed quite picky about what they would pack and what they would not pack. This was the first difference I noticed from workers we hired from Hire a Helper to pack our first Pod. The dynamic of the works seemed odd to me. One of the workers was clearly the leader while the others needed constant instruction on what to do next. The crew did have basic knowledge of how to pack a Pod (from what I could tell) but were far from experts. After removing several screws from the bottom of our dinning room table they were unablre to separate the top from the base and ended up putting it in the Pod in one piece. This took up more room than necessary. I then had to instruct them how to manuver the table out our back door. Towards the end the lead worker asked my if I had any rope to tie down the load. All my rope was already packed in the Pod. I offered to run to the hardware store and get some at which point he suggested I get straps instead as they would work better. When I returned and provided them with the straps they installed them incorrectly. The Pod is full enough so this will not be an issue, but still this was a concern. Finally, the crew had difficulty remembering what they were told to pack. Once they left I discovered many items they were told to pack that were not put in the Pod. I spent about an hour completing the task. All-in-all while these were all very nice young men, I would no likely use J & M Moving again.

I’ve handled it all my favorite moves would be long distance because I get to see new parts of my state places I would never see if I wasn’t a mover.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
My favorite part about being a mover is meeting new people and getting that work out from all the heavy lifting.
What training do you provide your crew members?
Every week we do routines and find new ways to get around sharp corners and how to be more efficient practice makes perfect!
