Your experienced movers are mostly Actors, Singers, Musicians and Artists supplementing our income. On time, efficient, careful & courteous. Never a "stairs fee" or any hidden fees. We strive to provide 5 star service on every move. We are careful who we send into your home, around your family and to handle your property, we offer background checked helpers, checked through Hireahelper. INSURANCE through Hireahelper covers goods while being handled by our helpers up to $.60 per pound (policy must be activated by completing an inventory form). Full coverage insurance also available through Hireahelper. We'll never leave you stranded! If late we'll send extra helpers to make up time at no cost when possible. So incredibly glad I hired these guys! Moving from Indy to Manhattan, with two kids, I was very concerned about how we were going to unload the truck while parking the truck in the street since one of us would have to stay with it. We considered just leaving everything behind and buying new, until we realized how expensive that would actually be lol. I was routed to Hire-a-helper via Penske, which I'm usually very wary of when third parties start getting recommended, especially when that third party is just a marketplace that connects me with fourth-party contractors. But it worked out great this time! The price was considerably lower than what I was finding on my own, and with so many reviews that certainly looked legit I decided ProMove must be for real, so that's who I went with.
Courtney and Eric showed up right on time which was **incredibly** reassuring. They showed me exactly where to park the truck, and they mentioned several times that they got this (as I was helping out because I was worried about time). I eventually decided to get out of their way and just let them do their thing, and they were fantastic. I had a double-loft bed that I'd built that was gonna come in real handy in a tiny Manhattan apartment, and it included almost two dozen pieces of lumber (including 4 4ft 4x4s with plywood triangles bolted to the tops, and 2 10ft 2x6s) which I was really worried would be a problem (or would get damaged! That would be a huge problem since I don't exactly have a table saw in Manhattan to reproduce the parts!) They got it all up safely and with zero grumbling about the crazy stuff I was packing. Overall I don't think I could be any happier, there's nothing at all I can think of to complain about unless I wanted to be pedantically nitpicky. Nothing was damaged at all, they finished with *plenty* of extra time which was a huge relief, they didn't need to be micromanaged (and I eventually stopped doing it lol), they were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be checking back next time we move!

One of our two helpers showed up on time and worked so hard along side us. We give him, Courtney, 5 stars and highly recommend him. The other helper showed up about and hour and a half into the 2 hr. window, citing train issues, which we get, but he wasn’t of much help since we had nearly finished the job by the time he got here. Both helpers were friendly and experienced. Overall, a good experience.

These guys were amazing! Since helping us coordinate parking the rental truck from the whole process of unloading with our building, they were absolutely courteous and professional. Would definitely use them again!

The guys were very efficient and we moved all the items together in no time. Everyone was very respectful and hands on. Unfortunately one part of the wardrobe got destroyed while trying to get it from the freight elevator to the apartment. However, the hire a helper team was super helpful and reimbursed us for the damage, so overall great experience.

I can't recommend these guys highly enough - they made a move that had felt incredibly stressful until they arrived suddenly feel easy. Courtney and Eric were so helpful and fast; they even helped my sister park the UHaul. They arrived right on time, but because of some issues on my end with picking up the truck we had less than the full 2 hours, but they still finished packing it on time, were lovely friendly, and efficient the whole time, and got us on our way feeling far less stressed than we had before they arrived. They made me feel so much better I wanted to hug them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
Your move date is set! Contact for details and any necessary instructions
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
We always show up! On time arrival within the first 20 minutes of the one hour window, with an experienced, professional and courteous crew.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Please have items packed and ready to go (large boxes not too heavy please), furniture blankets to protect your stuff, appropriate size truck for the move. Then wooosah! we got you, you're things are in capable hands.
What types of moves have you handled?
Local, Long distance, Office, Commercial, Specialty moves (larger & fragile medical equipment).
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
No gym membership needed, we get paid to exercise. Our worksite is different everyday & we interact with new people.
What training do you provide your crew members?
Two weeks of moving technique (lifting, turning, angles), teamwork, pacing, basic disassembly/reassembly and materials handling as well as customer service is our basic training. Then more experienced movers ( Courtney, Eric, Yusef, Azar, Ken) have advanced training for loading moving vans.
