Here's my story/review.
I hired Johnson Movers for what I thought was a next to impossible task: to carry a heavy 8' 2" piece of a sectional couch that was too large to to fit into the building elevator up 17 stories and 34 flights of steps.
To make matters worse, the stairwell ceiling height Al had to work with was 8', the stairs were narrow, and every other landing was a small 8' x 4'. A 31" high railing ran the length of each flight.and landing.
After Al accepted the job, I continued to be concerned about whether it could be accomplished. This concern was tied a larger concern: the delivery team from Macy's had already been out weeks before and walked away after trying to wrestle the sectional into the elevator. I held off canceling the order because it was weeks late to begin with, and I really wanted this particular piece of furniture.
This time, Macy's would deliver the deliverable parts of the sectional and leave the largest part for Al. If Al couldn't deliver, I would be stuck with three pieces in my condo and one piece wherever it was left in the building. I would have to call Macy's and have everything removed at an additional cost and begin all over again to find something I liked for the living room. The whole idea of this tired me out and increased my anxiety. So much so that I was about to call Macy's and cancel everything.
Instead, I called Al who came out to inspect the job site. After a close examination of the stairwell, Al assured me again that the move could be accomplished. I felt some relief but still was skeptical -- and worried.

Our two helpers were great!! Wayne confirmed our time in advance and they arrived on time and completed before our time was up -- even with VERY difficult pieces!!! I intend to use them again when we do a remodel to move some furniture around -- they were so polite and careful -- traits that aren't always included in such a line of work!! Thanks guys!
