I used Carter Moving and Home Improvement for my move from VA to WV. They arrived exactly when they said they would and started working immediately. I found them to be polite, friendly, and very respectful of me, and my family as well as treating my belongings carefully. They are hard workers and didn't stop until the job was done. These guys showed up AT LEAST half an hour early, which was fine. They went straight to work, but tended to do their own thing rather than taking direction. They were nice enough, but not very careful with my stuff. Loaded box springs that they were told not to load & had to bring them back inside. Moved a brand new mattress onto the truck before we wrapped it & with the mattress cover still on it - it was filthy after being drug across the back of the moving truck. When we told them we wanted to wrap certain items before they went on the truck, they said in their experience wrapping furniture wastes time & kept trying to move items we said we wanted wrapped first. Once we took control of the situation & had them slow down & take items that were already ready to go, we were able to wrap the remaining furniture pieces ourselves in plenty of time to stay ahead of them. We had to bring several boxes to their attention that were being crushed on the bottom of a stack even though marked "fragile". Their rates are a little expensive compared to movers we've used in the past & the ones we used on the other end of the move. They were nice enough, but maybe just new at this or maybe they were in a hurry that day.

They were on time, even early. We were moving out of town and needed to be unloaded at a certain time. They had all the equipment that they needed and worked hard. This was a last minute booking as the person I thought I had lined up never returned my phone calls to confirm.

Kevin and Jonathan worked very hard to put 2 apartments worth of furniture into a 26’ truck. They very respectful and very careful with our items. Showed up ready to work 20 minutes early. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Don’t stress and get as much done early as possible. Try to put boxes to the side so we have room to walk . We also are insured .

Same Day Moves
We charge an extra 15% for same day requests.
Next Day Moves
We accept next day requests at our normal rates.
Refunding Unused Time
We do not refund for any unused time.
Extra Hours
We can always stay at least 1 hour over the prebooked time.
