Great job

Showed up 40 min late, 9:40 instead of between 8-9. Took a lot of breaks, talking, too much time on phone, hiding inside truck after loading something. Had to keep reminding them about things. Had things on back porch, they put 3 things on grass out of sight from window in porch door, they thought they were done, good thing son caught the items not loaded yet. I had a problem disconnecting a DISH DVR inside entertainment center and had the box to put it into along with other TV items - they said they could do that for me, even used my tape dispenser to tape the box up but left the DISH DVR inside the entertainment ctr! When the unloaders carried the entertainment center into the house and set it down, apparently it was leaned up against the side instead of laying flat as intended, and it fell over. It should not have been left inside in the first place. I purchased many moving blankets and told them to specifically use one for a large Kincaid, reminded them several times, they always assured me they were on top of things, but it just went in one ear and out the other apparently, as at the other end, the unloaders in another state (used ABF trailer transport from FL to TX) told me they were shocked at how the trailer had been loaded and said they hoped I didn't tip them, but I did, very well, $100 ea. I had no clue how horribly they packed the trailer. They took 7 hrs., and unloading only took 2 hrs.. 15 min! I know it takes less time to unload, but that's a huge difference in time. They must not have known how to load boxes and furniture, heavy boxes on bottom, lighter ones on top, etc. Almost every box was crushed/ruined/destroyed! Even holes in boxes. I had several boxes of new items I had shipped to me before we moved, left in the boxes they came in, and they were damaged a well. Things were loose in the truck that came out of holes made in the boxes from the way they loaded. Several items were broken, a table leg was broken, the bottom of my piano was damaged on one side, several plastic bins used to store Xmas decorations and other things - the plastic lids were all torn up - how do you pack a truck that can do that? The un-loaders showed me everything damaged so they wouldn't be held accountable for it. On top of all the damage, they stole our soundbar. We purchased a new DISH soundbar last yr to replace an older one going out, and it was not in the truck upon arrival at this end. It was too long for a box, so loaded like furniture. On top of that, they had the gall to contact me asking for more money, days AFTER they contacted Hire A Helper to get my permission to bill for the extra hours it took to load, which the estimated time from Hire A Helper was 3 hrs, it took 7 hrs, which I approved the extra time. I got a receipt as paid in full - and yet the No B.S. people sent me an invoice for more money due. I thought they were slow loading but they were always nice enough. I did not realize until we un-loaded at this end what a horrible job they did, and sorry I tipped them so much. Every single piece of wood furniture had from scratches to gouges, I protected my mattresses with the plastic covers for moving them, however, they were half off by time they got to this end, probably didn't stay on good while loading and my mattresses ended up with that dirty gray filth from the metal sides/bottom of the trailer. My expensive cream colored power reclining sofa is ruined from that same trailer silver/gray coloring, and I don't know what they put up against or on top of my sofa, but it has several indentions that will never come out. They even managed to ruin one of the TV boxes and both wardrobe boxes! Those type of boxes cost in the $20's each! I bought all of my boxes at Home Depot and some at Lowe's - moving boxes. How they managed to put holes in them, I don't know - but obviously put heavy items to crush them. I even had a box marked with a separate piece of paper and pointed it out to them verbally as well, FRAGILE do not put anything on top of this box...and they did. The top of the box was crushed - I had 2 expensive living room lamps in that box.
I chose No BS due to they had over 1000 moves with Hire a Helper with good reviews. These particular 2 guys, however, must never have been any of the ones the reviews were talking about. Here in Houston I went with another company for un-loading. They said I'd be texted about giving my review, and it required specifically naming the guys doing the work, so people could choose who they wanted based on individual ratings, not the company's rating - to ask for those particular employees with good reviews. That's a better way to review/rate the company, as not all employees are good workers and in my case, I didn't luck out on the loaders - got 2 bad ones. Where's my sound bar???? I guess one of the guys decided he liked it for himself.

Mover's response:
WOW, you could have called me to discuss this. To my knowledge everything was great every time I called to check on you and their work. I will investigate and return with a more detailed response but my first observations just from your long review and the pictures I have and what your son said and what my lead helper just said over the phone was, that even though they packed it near perfectly, for which you supervised and approved and tipped them well for it before they closed the door, is that your son warned that you might do something like this because you are generally an unhappy person. BTW, I don't employ people who steal. They said your sound bar was packed with the other TV items and they removed everything from the entertainment center including the dish dvr. I'm sure you will eventually find your sound bar. Also ABF, is notorious for bad driving. We have unloaded numerous ABF trailers that were damaged mainly because of bad driving. The only reason I sent you an invoice is because that is what you said you wanted since it was for moving and loading a surprise piano that you didn't want to pay the hireahelper price for the additional people recommended to move it and I gave you a reduced price with only 2 people, that is not offered in the HAH system, who lifted it with a shoulder dolly strap and carried it and placed it carefully in the trailer with no damage. I am told that you were also not prepared to move so they had to not only load the trailer but also had to help you pack thus the reason for the additional time. I am also told that you only had 2 quilts and no blankets or pads. Corbin had some pads from a previous job that a customer donated and he used them for you to cover as much of the furniture as he could with what he had including tie downs. These guys know how to pack a truck &/or a trailer. I've never had a complaint about them in the 2 years they've been working with me. You are the first. You can see the names of Ian & Corbin in some of the most recent 5 star reviews. I will investigate some more and return with a more detailed reply.

I'm back and my first observations apparently were correct. I'm sorry that you are unhappy and that your ABF driver was apparently not a very good driver. The documented pictures I have tell a different story than the more than a thousand words you used to tell a fairytale about our loading. May you someday find happiness.

Great company and crew to work with. They were in constant contact throughout the entire process from reservation to a post-job followup. I originally booked for three hours, but they offered to stay longer as they saw my wife and I had a huge job to deal with (28' UPack trailer). And we got it all loaded! Richard and his team were great to work with and he definitely knows how to pack a trailer! If I were staying in the area, I would definitely hire them again!
