Let me start with the guys who eventually did show up (Larry & Chris) worked their tails off and did a good job - and I tipped them accordingly. Rather then use emotionally charged adjectives I will just describe what happened and you can judge for yourself. We got a box from Rat Pack and arranged for these guys to move only pieces of furniture. All boxes, etc. we moved ourselves to our temporary home, so it was literally only furniture. The day before I was contacted by Family Movers to see if they could start an hour earlier at 9 am - I said fine. So the morning of the move, I got up extra early to complete some errands to ensure I was there by 9 am. In fairness, they didn't say they were 100% going to start at 9 but wanted the option. But still I rearranged somethings in an effort to be accommodating. 10 am rolls around and haven't heard or seen them. 11 am same thing. I called and left a voice message to see what was up and make sure everything was ok - no response. I wound up leaving 3 messages, which never got returned. I never received a phone call from the movers apologizing, or explaining, I am having car problems, or another job ran late, or bla bla. I finally emailed HireAHelper to see what the status was and if I need to make other arrangements. I then sent a text to number I had left 3 messages with and asked what the status was and if they were still coming. I got a text back saying yes they were still coming and two guys had just left the yard and ETA within the hour but still no explanation or apology. This was also a surprise since the whole reason we went with Family Movers was because we saw something that said "get three movers for the price of two." I then got a call from HireAHelper in response to my email - they apologized and they agreed shouldn't have happened and knocked $25 off. The guys showed up at 3 pm. The worked hard but the job took 3 1/2 hours, so I had to pay for an additional hour and half. While I think the job could have been done with 3 guys within the 2 hours I was quoted, for sake of argument I am willing to accept that perhaps I was going to have to pick an additional 30 minutes. But the reason I had to pay for an additional hour and half is because two guys showed up. Later when I tried to pay via text it would not go through - perhaps user error but it worked later, but that was after I called them. I spoke with another gentlemen from HireAHelper. By then I was just shy of livid. I didn't scream or curse the guy out on the phone, but like the two that showed up, it was not his fault. But it was still everything I could do to not just go off. Anyways, he said he was taking an additional $25 off. Of course I just looked at my credit card and they only took $25 off - not the $50. My main beef here is if you are going to be late call. When you are late, call or at least be professional enough to call the people and say "hey this is happening, sorry." My wife and I would have understood because stuff happens that is out of your control. But it threw the entire move off and caused a chain of other problems with the move as we were supposed to be out, and didn't have the decency to call. Needless to say we will not be using them again.

They came out on Memorial Day shortly after I submitted the request. Flexible, efficient, and friendly-all much appreciated on a moving day.. Will use them again in August.

Hard working crew that completed the job and even went back to the first property to retrieve a few items that did not fit in the truck the first time without asking. They were an hour late, but did get to work right away and were prepared. Would use again.

They started on time and finished within the allotted time period. I would absolutely use them again. My only "issue" is that I needed to call them to find out what time they would be arriving on my move day. I am not sure if it was because I stated my move times were "flexible" but it would have been nice to have received a call the day before the move from them instead of me calling them the morning of the move. Aside from that I would still give them 5 stars.

On the warmest day of the season so far, David and his assistants worked diligently to pack our 16 foot pod. Their arrival was delayed but we did receive a telephone call from David letting us know and once they arrived, they set to work right away, completing our move in the 3 hour window. As their name implies (Family Movers) the three person team were all related and worked very well together as a team. They were very kind and respectful to the "senior citizen" homeowners and treated our home and belongings with care. Thank you Family Movers, LLC for your hard work and for making the transition of good from our home as uneventful as could be expected. Good job!!

David and Chris were fantastic. They took great effort to ensure the safety and protection of our property. They were both professionals and acted in a professional and friendly manner. They worked quickly and efficiently and packed the POD tight and safely.
These guys were the best!
They were flexible with our schedule and didn't mind working around our disorganization.
Want to hire them to unload the POD when the time comes. Family Movers were great to work with!

Not on time
Not prepared for the job
Was somewhat respectful of my property but my dresser was broken at they were trying to carry it into my place..
In addition my couch was scratched in several places due to the walls of my place not being wide enough and the crew did not have the proper supplies to complete the move.
No I will never use the company again. The owner was not honest about what we agreed to on the phone regarding the move such as time to start after he asked me to delay the move so that he could move another customer first when I was the first customer on his list. I was supposed to have my items moved @ 8:30 am and they were not moved until 4:00 pm. The movers were 8 hours late I was extremely behind on my move and it did not get completed until 12:30 am. It was a very stressful very unorganized move. I had to move items from MD to VA and it took forever. Then when I asked the movers about getting some type of credit etc I was told the move would be canceled if I wasn't able to pay for extra time. I agreed to pay for extra time even though I was not the reason why the move required extra time. The movers were unprepared to move the items in my home, so therefore the move was delayed extensively more than it should have been. I should not have been required to pay for an extra 5 hours because the movers weren't prpared. I nor my X Husband was treated with respect by the owner on the day of the move, however he was very friendly on the phone when the move was being set up. He agreed on the phone to make sure he took care of me, but the day of the move after he realized he was late he was very rude. Very nasty..
I am requesting some or all of my money back for the terrible services provided.
