The tone was set by a call informing me they were running behind by 2hrs. When they arrived with an additional worker though I paid for 2, I thought maybe things might not be so bad. Wrong! They hadn’t brought any of the blankets I requested so my sofa is filthy. I hired them because it was just my wife an I and we are middle aged. We were moving our stuff into a POD situated in the driveway and the rest in a 10 foot UHaul. They worked at slow pace, were careless with my belongings, and carefree with my time. It took almost 5 hrs to load the POD alone. At the end of 5 hrs, most of my possessions upstairs were still there, especially the more heavy boxes. At that point I decided to stop the bleeding and cut them loose. My wife I alone worked all night and finished getting all the stuff out just in time for the buyers walk through at 9am. I will never use them again and would emphatically recommend others to steer clear.

J & L Movers were outstanding!! They notified us when they were on their way and then arrived on time. All three crew members were polite, professional and respectful. They were careful with our furniture and loaded the PODS container with care and planning. We were amazed at how much they were able to fit!

These guys did a great job. They packed everything as high and full as possible and shrink wrapped everything. Just an excellent all around job.

The crew were very hard working. But, I cannot give a high rating because they severely damaged my three-day old wood floors twice. On the second day they showed up eight hours late and were simply throwing boxes, etc into a massive pile in my basement that I now cannot access. As a disabled woman this has been the worst service related experience of my life. However, I blame the company for sending men unprepared and overly exhausted to empty two 16 foot pods. The crew was decent, except for the massive pile in my basement. Yet, if not for them I would have given zero stars.

This is the second time we hired J&L over the past week. They helped us unpack 4 16 foot pack-rat containers filled with boxes and furniture. They arrived on-time on both occasions and did a really terrific job. They were respectful toward us, to our possessions AND to our house.
Ira was very knowledgeable and was a great resource when it came time to do the final billing.
I highly recommend these folks for any move, big or small.
