The first HAH operator, Steve, was fully instructed regarding the coordination of the move: moving a 1 bedroom apt from the basement and from a ladder craw space into the moving van. The second HAH operator (I cannot remember the name of this woman - Christine?) put the wrong address on the move. I asked the woman operator to repeat the move info and corrected the information and she STILL DIDN'T BOTHER to correct the mistake. Therefore, the move people went to the wrong address. I was the idiot who assumed the HAH operator would do her job correctly after I told her about the address mistake. I was wrong. Putting the right information on the job ticket was obviously too stressful a task for her.
While the movers were at the site, they complained about taking (2) regular size dressers from the basement. Then they complained about taking items from the upper storage space. The movers complained about the heat. They didn't have anything to wipe their sweat so I provided wipes. The temperature outside was 85 degrees. Aren't movers used to hard physical labor in any weather conditions??? I found out about the incorrect HAH directions when the movers complained about going to the wrong address. The movers also claimed they were NOT advised about moving items from the basement and from the upper crawl space. I am a 50 year old woman. I had more energy and stamina than what was displayed by the movers. I was the one who crawled up into the space so the (much younger) movers wouldn't have to "strain themselves". However, since some of the items in the crawl space were too heavy (a 48" table) for me, the one mover did eventually consent to getting the items down.
The movers stated I asked them to do things that were "way out of their job scope". I specifically asked Steve (HAH) if moving items from the basement and from the crawl space was acceptable and he stated it was o.k. I was afraid the movers would not get the job completed so I promised a large tip. Since I am an honest business person (I know "honest business person" is an oxymoron phrase (sp?) ), so I did give a large tip.
I will not recommend Hire-A-Helper or their movers to anyone. And, I bet HAH will immediately delete this review or if they bother to check, the 2 people who took my job order will deny, deny, deny and find reasons to shift the blame from themselves and their movers onto myself. You see, that is exactly how business is conducted today; refusal to take any responsibility what-so-ever for their actions.

Joe and Jermaine were the best! They called when they were on their way and arrived on time. They brought all the required items for the move and worked quickly, efficiently and respected my house and furniture. Will use them again.

I hired Move for Less, LLC. to unload a truck I brought from another state. The office was accommodating moving my morning job to the evening so my husband could be there. I specifically told the office that I needed strong guys to move some heavy items and that it was a large truck, so they needed to be fresh to get the work done in the time allotted I was concerned having them unload at 5 pm. I was assured that her best 3 guys would be coming to do the work.
They arrived on time and quickly got to work. The heaviest items were unloaded first and they did a great job for the first hour. After that they must have gotten tired because they took very frequent breaks, talked on the phone, took personal calls, disappeared a bunch of times to the point that I had to go find them, and text ed continually. Several times I had to go find them and ask if they were going to complete the job on time. They were hanging out in the basement chilling instead of off loading the truck. Only one guy out of the 3 worked continuously and he was the oldest and smallest of the 3. I had to add 2 more hours onto the booked time so they could finish the job. It felt as if they had intentionally slowed down to get more money. I feel that if they had worked consistently, the job would have been finished on time and on budget. Also they finished before the last hour yet didn't clean up the area and their drinking cups and bottles. I found those things all over my yard in the morning and they left the truck a mess and furniture pads all over the place. I would not recommend this company to family or friends....and we have used many different companies over the years and been pleased with the results in the past.

They were on time and worked really hard. I used them to pack up my 3 bedroom townhouse and move everything out. They did it in the allotted amount of time, which my back account truly appreciated! I would use this company again in the future!
