This was the second time I hired this company. They showed up on time, but two of the three were grumpy and had a bad attitude from beginning to end. I had hired 4 movers but only 3 were available. Two of the 3 were new to me. Didn't introduce themselves, no clue who the crew lead was until later, etc. They grumpily packed and loaded the containers, argued frequently with how best to do it, and barely finished loading one 16 foot container. They practically ran out the door when they were done. At the beginning of the job they told me they had another job so they'd need to leave right on time. Not a minute late. So much for the extra two hours if I needed it promise.

To compare, the first crew of 4 came and packed and loaded two 16 foot containers in 3 hours. The second crew of 3 sloppily loaded one container, barely, in 4 hours. I'm rather disappointed.

To add insult to injury, several deep gouges appeared on our wood floors and doors because they did a terrible job moving the furniture. Would not hire again. Unfortunately because you can't choose what crew shows up, I wouldn't hire this company again and do not recommend. That crew that showed up did a terrible service for the company, because the first crew was a 5 star group.

One final note: when the crew arrived, our container hadn't been dropped off yet. They almost left me stranded without movers despite me telling them there was plenty of work to be done. They absolutely worked from the moment they started until they ran away at the end, and my container not being there was not the problem. Can't believe they tried to bail on me before even talking to me. My container arrived an hour and 30 mins after they got there and they were not even close to being ready to load it. Half the furniture was STILL upstairs by the time the container arrived.

Mover's response:
Hi Erin,

After our first job with you, we were told everything that wasn't ready when we got done would be ready to go when we came back to finish. 2 days later we came to load the last pod and everything was still not ready which is why it took longer to do the job the 2nd time. You also booked this job and didn't inform us that the pod was a same day delivery so while we were waiting for the pod to get there we moved everything to your garage. The pod didn't arrive until 3hrs and 15mins after we arrived and we were able to get it packed in the last 45mins of your scheduled time. At no time was the crew going to leave you stranded and we also had called you before hand to inform you it would be a 3 man crew instead of 4 due to illness. We also made sure that you were not charged for a 4 man crew only a 3 man crew. Again everything was ready to go into the pod by the time the pod arrived onsite, also this is why both HireAHelper and our company strongly advise against same day pod delivery and load when ever possible. I'm sorry you were unhappy with the 2nd set of movers we had come but I believe everything went as best as possible within the parameters of your move.

Two gentlemen that moved our stuff were very polite, professional and efficient in moving our furniture. They took great care to ensure our stuff was not damaged or that walls, railing or flooring were not “dinged up.”

We would highly recommend Hire A Helper to move stuff in a home, especially heavier furniture.

They were quick and efficient. I hired them for 3 hours but they completed the job in 1.5 hours. Therefore, I kind of wasted money so when hiring make sure you really need them for the length of time paid for.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?

We will give you a call as soon as possible to get all of the details for your move confirmed and also go through your move with you to discuss any additional information that may happen for your move. Also we will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding your move.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?

Once we arrive onsite we will do a brief walk through and then we will get started by prepping any furniture for loading and proceed to loading your Pod, Truck or Trailer.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?

The best way to prepare for your move is always organization, having walkways cleared for the movers so as not to trip over anything. If we are unloading a great time saver is to take post it notes label each room #1,#2 etc then as we are bring boxes in you can say that goes to room # this makes it much easier for you and saves you time and money!

What types of moves have you handled?

We have handled every move there is, we do in-state, residential, commercial, industrial, out of state, in home, remodels, we also do staging as well!

What's your favorite part about being a mover?

By far we love doing everything we can to take the stress out of your move, we know moving is a very stressful thing to do, so we want to do everything we can to make whatever part we are taking in it to be stress free.

What training do you provide your crew members?

All of our employees go through training on jobs as an extra crew member to learn everything they need to know before being sent out. It is imperative that they learn how to handle your belongings properly before they are put on as a full time member of our company.
