We used this company to unload the POD into the house. The calls in advance of the move were excellent; the company is definitely organized. We received a call immediately after placing the reservation and then again a couple of days before the move to confirm. The guys were nice and thoughtful about when, where, and how to place the objects in the home. One of the guys was definitely a harder worker than the other. I wish there was a way to give him his own review because he was excellent. The other guy was on the phone a lot for personal reasons, which is hard to watch when you know you're paying by the hour. I jumped in and helped move some stuff just to ensure the move kept going forward. The company seems excellent. I gave 4 stars because of the one guy spending so much time on the phone / distracted from the move.

The Iowa Moving 1 LLC movers were super fast and efficient. They made my moving process from Des Moines to Lincoln very smooth. They loaded all of my items in a u-haul in around 40 minutes. The guys were friendly and on top of it! Definitely would recommend them to anyone who needs loading and unloading services.

VERY expensive for the work and quality. Grateful they moved around the appoints to accommodate me (they give you a window of when they might show up to start work, even if you choose the first hour of a day). The workers were professional and friendly and did well at first but then seemed to loose their ability to pack well at the end. I provided straps, they said thank you, and did not strap my belonging in. The end of the packing was haphazard and furniture fell against the pod door (and it hadn't even been moved yet). A+ for the first half but F for the 2nd. I had repack my pod so it could be transported.

Great experience working with Iowa Moving 1. Even on a hot summer day they managed to complete the unload and move very efficiently. I would recommend them without hesitation if you need someone to help with your move.

Iowa Moving 1 provided 3 movers to load a 26’ truck. The three young men, Blake, Grant and (sorry forgot his name); could have been more polite or worked harder. I waited until we unpacked to provide this review as I had some concern about how things would be on arrival. Not because of the way they packed but with 20 hours of some very rough interstate driving we felt it likely that some of the older pieces might have been damaged. Everything came through with flying colors!

Communication and coordination with the central office was excellent and I thoroughly appreciated their attentiveness and punctuality--the actual crew who provided services at our home on the other hand were not as exceptional.
To be fair, I think they must've been rather new to loading trucks because it took them significantly longer to load the truck than I anticipated it would (and I have a great deal of experience moving from one location to another), and they were unable to fit all of our property into a single 26' moving truck because they stacked our belongings no more than 2/3 of the vertical space of the truck.
Moreover, upon our arrival at our destination, we discovered that several pieces of furniture were broken and our appliances were scratched and dented (more than typical for a long distance move). Additionally, the crew members were not very attentive when we discussed what items needed to go on the truck and what items did not--and rather than owning their error and apologizing, they would simply lie to make themselves look better.
In the end, we ended up having to pay for an additional 1.5 hours of labor for the guys to load our truck, and we had to leave an additional 12' trailer of our belongings with friends because the movers did not load the 26' truck properly.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
After you book with us, you should expect an introduction call from our office staff to go into further detail about your moving situation and to answer any pre-move questions that you may have. We enjoy working with our customers and look forward to assisting them in whatever way that we can.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
Our moving crew will call you when they are on the way to the customer's job site and we pride ourselves on arriving on-time. Once our crew arrives at the customer's residence, the movers will do a walk-through to analyze the items that need moved and to answer any further questions that the customer may have. After that, our movers will get right to work on getting you moved as safely and efficiently as possible.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
We recommend that customers have all boxes packed and sealed before our movers arrive (unless you have hired our company for a packing service). Please ensure that there are clear walk ways within the residence. We ask that all dresser drawers be emptied prior to moving. To save time and money , customers can also have beds disassembled and mirrors removed from dressers ahead of time, if possible.

We handle residential and office moves. We can help pack, load and/or unload your moving rental truck, trailer or portable storage container. We also provide in-house furniture moves.
