My experience with Maybaum Movers was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in my life. I booked Maybaum Movers through Hire A Helper (two movers for two hours) to load a 16 ft. PODS (portable storage container). I have a one-bedroom apartment. The movers arrived on time, which was the only aspect of the move that was satisfactory. The two movers were pleasant young men, yet they moved very, very slowly and didn't seem to have a process or method for loading the items in the storage container. One of the movers continually gave directions and suggestions to the other mover on what to take and what to do in general! There was no sense of professionalism or skill from the movers. As I stated, they were pleasant, but were very casual (too casual) and simply did not approach the move in a professional manner. I definitely had my doubts when one of the movers only took two cushions from my couch down to the POD, that's it two couch cushions! I almost commented on their speed, or lack their of, but I really needed the help (hence hiring movers) and was on a time crunch ( I was leaving the state the next day). They were moving so slowly that they stated that they needed an additional 30 minutes to finish the job. I should have complained at this point, but i just wanted the job completed due to the time crunch. I paid the extra $22 for the 30 minutes. The payment process is all through text messages. After I paid, the movers left. One of the movers informed me that he left the POD open, so I could put more things in it. I vacuumed and cleaned the apartment for then decided to take the vacuum and other items to the POD. I was surprised to see that the POD had been loaded very poorly. As I noticed with their approach of taking the items, they clearly had no system for loading the POD. It really looked like a hodge podge mess and worse than that, the POD would not close! The movers had placed my coffee table with several boxes on top of it too close to where the POD closes. They left no room between the coffee table and sliding door. I called and text the owner/manager of Maybaum Movers, Daryl several times throughout the day to get someone to rearrange the furniture. I started calling him at 11:20 a.m. I didn't have a resolution until 7:00 p.m. Here's why: I never received a return phone call from Daryl. He text me a couple of times with stock messages like "Oh my, let's see what we can do" with no follow-up after that message. I called Jeremy, one of the movers at some point and he stated that I could try to move the things myself, which pretty much defeats the purpose of having movers, right? Then he agreed to come back after another move he was doing that day. He would be available at 7:00 p.m. So, the story ends with me calling Hire a Helper and them dispatching another moving company to assist me. Utopia movers came within 1/2 of Hire a Helper confirming with them. The two movers were helpful and professional. In less than an hour they rearranged the POD and were on their way. I really wish I had hired Utopia Movers. They were excellent and literally saved my day. I reviewed the Yepl and other reviews of Maybaum Movers and I'm glad the majority of people had good experiences, but I would highly recommend you use another company. My experience with them ADDED to the stress of moving. The entire point of hiring movers is to decrease at least one aspect of moving.

Zach and Jeremy from Maybaum Movers arrived on time and immediately got to work. They were two very personable young men who worked extremely hard. Within 2 hours they had completely loaded the 16 foot container we rented from Pack Rat. They were extremely careful with all the furniture and wrapped the larger items with blankets to protect them. Would we use them again? You better believe it! We plan to hire them again, to unload the container, once our new condo construction is completed.

Canceled on me less than 24 hours before my move after texting with them the whole week leading up to it. Luckily hire a helper notified me and found a replacement that would have been more money but covered the difference on my behalf. Very nice of them!

These guys were fast, professional and extremely polite. They emptied two 1800packrat containers, unpacked my boxes, and put my furniture together. They took great care with everything and finished early.

I was pleasantly surprised to see such a strong work ethic in this young team. 3 hours of loading a truck without a single break, on a hot muggy morning. They packed my truck well, and I would hire them again in a flash, were I so unfortunate as to have to move again. Ron E.

They did a fantastic job! Everything was carefully moved but on top of that, they were very personable and even helped us to better layout the apartment. They were very flexible to move furniture around for us to see various layouts and find one that we loved.

I get it, you want to save money. Yes, you will save money but it is doubtful that your possession will be loaded into the truck with any consideration; this is what happened to me. First, I will say the when these 2 guys arrived they were nice, hard working, go-getter types, but they were 2 and half hours late and I had to call THEM to get an eta. During the truck load-in, I stayed behind in the apartment to clean. This was a mistake on my part. After a swift 1hr 30min they had packed the truck, I paid and they were off. When I got to my destination and started to unload I noticed that they had wedged a tall bookcase into the space damaging the top, a vintage desk was scratched on the side from being slid across the floor of the truck. I'm guessing these 2 never played Tetris, because they were oblivious on how to safely and efficiently pack a moving truck. So yes, you will save money, but if you value your possessions send a little more for considerate movers.
