I wish I had checked around before we hired this bunch. I do not recommend them. First, they were about 4 hours late showing up so it was completely dark when they arrived. This contributed to a very slow process in moving materials out to the shipping container. Next, the items were very inefficiently packed in the container and when we asked that they let us arrange items, they not only refused but became hostile. One of the men assisting stood, staring and vacant eyed, mumbling profanity while huffing at directions, without working on multiple occasions. Finally, after their creation of delay and problems, they had the audacity to charge us for overtime.

Ginny, I'm sorry that you feel your experience was not satisfactory. We take all feedback seriously as we try to continuously improve on what we do. However, I do take exception to some of your claims. As you know, we agreed to an arrival anytime after 2. The start time on your invoice was 4:25 & it wasn't dark until 6:30. Also, you hired an elite crew & that's exactly what you received. Your pod was loaded as safely & quickly as possible given 3 flights of stairs & your "micromanaging," in the words of your movers. We know moving is stressful & it was challenging for you, but calling your mover a "d-bag" & telling him to "stop f-ing talking" after he merely told you how much room was left in the pod, is no way to speak to someone who is busting his butt trying to provide a good experience for you. By the end, thankfully, you had all apologized & you had tipped the guys & even given them extra furniture to take home.
I stand behind my movers, their integrity & the quality of their work. Again, we try very hard to provide a good experience - our livelihoods depend on it. As well, I'm sorry we didn't meet your expectations. Peter Wottowa, owner

Movers were incredibly friendly and efficient. Showed up early. Moving my one bedroom apartment took less time than anticipated. Wrapped all my furniture. I am very pleased with my experience.

We couldn't have been more pleased with the movers from Alhood. They arrived on time and worked carefully and quickly. We had 2 16' Pods to unload and they had the job done in record time.

If we could have awarded 6 stars we would do so.

Movers were efficient, agile, and quick! Everything you’d want from your moving company. I paid for 2 hours but these guys finished early! I’d certainly recommend Alhood Van Lines- will use again!

I would use again. One mishap, but they came back and fixed the problem. They were quick, efficient, pleasant and followed what I wanted.

Often we ask ourselves why do we need professional movers - we have all moved many times in our lives and can load a car, van or truck.

The week before we had to load the contents of a 5 bedroom house into Pods, I had to move my daughter to college - I did this myself with a U-Haul - As you can imagine I could only fill the truck 50% - large spaces left, right and central.

This may seem trivial - but when moving a large amount of valuable house items you need things packed exactly, no spaces, etc.

Also, if I had done this myself I would have needed twice the amount of storage and transportation - which is twice the cost!

Finally - I could never move a stone table out of the basemen myself!

The 4 gentleman that worked on my job today were amazing. Very competent, hard working and efficient. Each of them had a great attitude and went above and beyond what I expected. I have used a lot of moving companies in my day and they were by far the best ever. Congrats on having such an amazing staff and thank you again for the great service today!

What can a customer expect after booking with you?

Our customers will receive an introductory email & phone call to review details & materials important for a safe & efficient move. We will call a day or two before the move to confirm the date & arrival time.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?

Your crew will call en route with an updated arrival time. At your home the crew will do an initial wallk through to review items to be loaded & they will prep your home's floors, railings & doors with tarps & protection. The walk through is the time to point out any items or areas that need special attention - such as antiques, attics, etc.

We accept next day requests at our normal rates.

Refunding Unused Time

We refund for any unused time over our min..

Extra Hours

We can always stay at least 1 hour over the prebooked time.
