100% would use them again.
The movers:
1.) were on time
2.) wore masks
3.) were prepared with equipment to to the job
4.) took care to not dirty the new carpet
5.) treated items with care
6.) packed the pod efficiently

I was also not sure if all my things were going to fit or if I would have to sell/give away items, but they came by beforehand to evaluate and give me suggestions. Thank you, this was very helpful.

I had two movers for 3 hours to load all of my personal items into a POD for moving. They were on time, personable, fast, and seemed to take care in moving my belongings. I would give 5 stars, but one of the movers smelled so strongly of smoke, making interactions a bit tough. Otherwise, I would use this company again for sure. Thank you!

Our movers were amazing. Basically loaded all the heavy stuff and packed it perfect and tight. Super friendly and professional. Would highly recommend these guys.

The movers showed up without a mask then asked if I wanted them to retrieve it which i obviously did. They banged a dolly up the stairs and when I asked them to not bang the stairs like that which disturbs other residents and potentially damages the building the mover told me ‘well you have heavy boxes’. A manager then called me for what reason I’m unclear, he said he wanted to help but had no suggestion outside of calling his staff and asking them for a better attitude. So I left and sat outside while they moved since I didn’t want to be inside with them where they are moving their masks down below their nose. At the end I came inside to find the manager, who was not present during any point of the move, inside my unit taking photos. I am astounded that they would not call me to tell me he was there (he’d called me previously and had my number as did the other mover). I told him to get out of my apartment and to delete the photos and that photos the mover who was there the entire time was fine and he refused to delete the photos. I can’t recommend this company and am appalled at their behavior. I have reported their actions to the company I hired them through and requested a written apology from the manager who decided it would be okay to enter my unit and take photos without speaking with or contacting me to let me know he was there. When I hired movers I did not allow the movers to have anyone from the company they wanted to enter my unit though they are not and were not helping with the move. It is beyond a violation of privacy, access, and basic respect. The movers who were here were entirely capable of taking whatever photos the company requires (which the manager said were to cover their ass) yet they decided to have a stranger come in at the last minute and access my home without calling me to say they were there at the very least.

Mover's response:
Laura, I'm so sorry that you're disappointed with our service. Thank you for reminding your crew to wear their masks. It's our policy for crews to wear masks & we have extras on all of our vehicles. The masks tend to fall down when moving heavy boxes & furniture, especially when moving up stairs, so reminding them to cover their noses is appreciated.
As a small business owner, I often call our customers during their move, as well as stop by, to make sure that everything is going smoothly. When I arrived at your move you weren't there so I took one of the last pieces to your apartment where I helped put the feet on your sofa & organized your boxes to make sure that you had pathways to move around. It's company policy to document our moves with photos, which I did as you weren't there. Please forgive me if I offended you. Your reaction to my presence is unique as I've never had a customer get upset about the owner arriving to help out & check on the move.

I hired a crew of 3, to load a 16 foot POD. They arrived on time and were Friendly and professional.

I was seriously disappointed in their work.

1) They showed up 2 hours early and upset my landlord.
2) They did not have wrap, dolly, or packing materials as advertised.
3) I called and spoke to the office beforehand asking for someone specifically familiar with loading a trailer properly and was assured the person assigned had over 20 years experience with it and yet he was barely 20 years old and knew very little about packing a trailer, resulting in it being packed incorrectly and numerous items damaged.
4) The two loaders/movers hired were apparently subcontracted out from Alhood Van Lines and didn't actually work for them and were unable to take tips via credit card on the app. I had to drive to an ATM just to tip them.
5) I tried calling Alhood twice and left messages about the poor service I received and my damaged items and they never returned my calls.

I wish I had never tried so hard to tip them they were terrible but I was nontheless grateful to have someone show up given the Covid situation.

Chris, I'm so disappointed to read your review & I take issue with all of your complaints. 1. YOU asked us to arrive between 12 & 1 & the crew arrived at 12. It's on your invoice. 2. We ALWAYS have wrap, dollies, blankets, straps, & tape for doing the job. We would never go to a job without it. It's what we do. 3. Mario is 54 & Cody is 27 & they have over 30 years experience between them. 4. You were informed before your move from Hire a Helper, & me, that tips cannot be added to your invoice. This was no surprise & has nothing to do with them being contractors. If you were so disappointed in them why did you tip them? 5. I'm the owner of the business & answer calls myself & you have NEVER called me about this. I take our work seriously & respond personally to all calls. It's May 16th & this is the first I've heard of this from this review just being posted. 6. The crew specifically gave me feedback about you & your move. They said you were "crazy loco", got in the way & wouldn't let them do their job as you rearranged their load, & didn't want to use blankets to protect your items. 7. My biggest disappontment is that you have to lie about me, my company & my competent hardworking movers. It's shameful & this review is full of BS. Peter Wottowa, owner

What can a customer expect after booking with you?

Our customers will receive an introductory email & phone call to review details & materials important for a safe & efficient move. We will call a day or two before the move to confirm the date & arrival time.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?

Your crew will call en route with an updated arrival time. At your home the crew will do an initial wallk through to review items to be loaded & they will prep your home's floors, railings & doors with tarps & protection. The walk through is the time to point out any items or areas that need special attention - such as antiques, attics, etc.

We accept next day requests at our normal rates.

Refunding Unused Time

We refund for any unused time over our min..

Extra Hours

We can always stay at least 1 hour over the prebooked time.
