We first scheduled 4 workers for 2 hours but then were informed by Big Boy that they would only provide 2 workers for 4 hours. I explained that we were driving a fully packed 26 foot truck and would need them there at exactly 1 PM in order to finish by 5 PM. On the long drive I called the Big Boy office two hours before our appointed time to confirm. At 1:30 I received a call letting me know that they were running late and should be there in 25 minutes. An hour later I was called again and Big Boy was seeking help with locating our home. They were nearly two hours driving time away from us making it impossible for them to arrive in time to be of any help. I worked with my brother-in-law for 8 hours to unload the truck. I would highly recommend everyone to consider any company other then Big Boy for his or her moving needs.

They guys showed up on-time, had the necessary equipment to move and re-assemble my furniture and were quick and efficient. They were careful with all of my goods, my new house & they handled my antique piano perfectly. Would definitely recommend them.

I hired Big Boy Movers to help unload a moving trailer that contained boxes along with a few pieces of heavy furniture , specifically an old piano. The hire was 24-48 hours before expected arrival at the property, so when an unexpected incident occurred, they were very good about rescheduling. I went over the details with the company's dispatch (pieces that were being moved and how they were going to get into the property). They were scheduled for 2:00 pm but did not arrive until after 2:30 pm. I did not have an issue with this because I was flexible on the time initially. I did have a problem with the movers not bringing any equipment with them. I specifically mentioned the heavy piano and that we would need furniture dollies to move it. I sent my father out to purchase arm straps and a dolly just so that we could get the piano mobile. To make matters worse, a foot peddle was broken in the process of moving and was not discovered until the movers left. Overall, the movers sent were pleasant but we're not prepared for the job. They also rushed, placing items in wrong locations, but this could have been due to fitting me into a reschedule. I think if I had time, I would research other companies.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
The customer can expect to receive a text confirming the date and time of the job. Through this communication they can also add any additional information that might be helpful such as: heavy items, long walks, specialty items, parking arrangements, etc.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
The movers will be on-site within the arrival window given. They will then do a walkthrough of the premises in order to strategize best practices for your individual relocation. They will then go over paperwork and begin the move.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Any prep the customer does on their end will quicken the move saving the movers time and, in effect, the customer money. Prep may include: breaking down beds, emptying drawers, clearing a walkway throughout the house, etc. Of course if these things are not done before hand, the workers will willingly do them when they arrive.
What types of moves have you handled?
After so many years in the industry there is nothing we haven't seen. We've done something so small as moving a couple of pieces of furniture to another room to relocating five thousand pound printing presses across town. We've relocated customers from California to Maine and everywhere in between. We can provide packing materials, packing services, loading services, transportation, unloading services, and unpacking services. In short there's nothing we can't do in this industry.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
The bet part of the job is seeing the relief in the customers' faces when they see that they don't have to move anything or stress about someone else moving their possessions. it always makes me smile when they visibly relax. Moving doesn't have to be stressful.
What training do you provide your crew members?
The onboarding process for our movers is extensive. Probably the part I like the best about our company is that 100% of our workers are referrals from workers we already have. That means the guys we hire are already vetted by our own employees who would never want to work with someone unreliable or lazy. In fact when we interview a person we already know what kind of work ethic and character he or she has after talking to the person that referred the potential worker. Our workers are as good as it gets.
