I chose this company based on the many positive reviews. They were late, communication was poor, the workers went over the scheduled time which I was charged partially for, they put things in the wrong areas despite clear and specific directions. They sent me 2 very young inexperienced workers. One was a 17 year old kid on his very first day. I am an overweight mid-life female with rheumatoid arthritis. I hired help because I needed it. The boys tried but, had no idea what they were doing. It took HOURS longer than it should have and was done poorly. We finally sent them home. My husband and I finished up 1/4 of the truck it took them over 3 hours to unload in ~ 20 minutes. We paid for it physically afterwards which was why I'd hired help from the beginning. The management at this company is sorely lacking. I feel like it was lack of training and supervision for the employees not, the fault of the young workers. Save yourself time, trouble and money. Go with a different company. I did contact management prior to leaving this review with zero response from them.

Do not use! The provider did not show up. I, and Hire A Helper, called, texted, or emailed more than 2 dozen times to confirm. Stay away!

Spoke with owner (Ryan) who stated his driver didn't show. Said he could send another crew later - 4 hours after the originally scheduled time. Then cancelled altogether. If you're running a business you should have a plan B. I would expect owner to have backup or offer to come help himself. We are located 2.5 hours away so to say this was disappointing and inconvenient is an understatement.

Initially seemed okay, but did not use any of our moving blankets or pads. Lots of metal shoved up against wood with no padding . Tried to unwrap mattress and foundation because they claimed they couldn't lift it. Brought our dresser and chest of drawers downstairs without taking the drawers out and we offered - twice ! Damaged several drawers and cracked off a knob on one Headboard ruined as they didnt wrap or pad it. Tried also to unwrap antique furniture but we caught that and insisted it stay wrapped Tossed a gasoline can in the back before they closed the door on the truck and locked it., We arrive one day later to find gasoline spilled all over our couch and mirror. Lots of damage. Poor packing crew of kids , no adult supervision . Spent almost 500 and now will spend five times that repairing or replacing . Horrible decision to use this company. Never again .

Original start time was 10-11 @ 1048 we get a call that they had a flat and would be here between 1-2 @2:15 still no movers no call. Called finally was told they had done other damage. Sending another crew ETA 5-6 said crew would call they did not. Arrived approx 615. They were uncoordinated and rough with the furniture. Sat my new sofa upholstery down on a wet dirty porch. Banged walls and doors. Were they nice? Yes...just not professional movers. I was offered a 10% discount which hardly made up for the frustrations of the day.

Was 3 hours and 40 min late due to a flat tire. The 2 kids were polite and had good attitudes. However just 1 piece of furniture got moved in 25 minutes because they struggled with ratchet straps. Just seemed to move too slow for what I had to load.

Josh and Logan were efficient, friendly, and professional. If I ever move again I only want those two young men to provide Hire A Helper services to me. I hope they get a raise.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
We always make sure to call an hour ahead to reconfirm the details with you. In doing so, you have an accurate ETA for our arrival and you can speak 1 on 1 with the driver as well.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Its always extremely helpful if your all packed up before our arrival. We can handle all the wrapping and lifting for you.
What types of moves have you handled?
Typically we can do every type of move imaginable. From moving a commercial 2500lb lathe machine to spinet pianos, residential homes and big office moves, we've been there and we have done it hundreds of times before. Even the small moves, too! Ten items or less? No problem.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Hearing the experiences. Whenever somebody moves, its for a reason. Being there and being able to protect what they have is important to me.
What training do you provide your crew members?
We have a two week paid training program in our warehouse before any crew members even step foot into a customers home. It's all about making sure they know how to wrap furniture, use dollies and straps properly, disassemble and reassemble beds and tables in a timely manner, and safety is definitely our biggest concern.
