They were personable and wanted to take good care of my items even more than I did. They placed the items exactly where I requested and were careful not to break anything.

Be wary of crews staffed for these jobs. Office staff I spoke with ahead of moving day were all fantastic to work with and were great communicators. Details and updates sent via text were helpful as moving day drew near. Our crew of 3 younger guys came in reeking of pot smoke, including their team lead. They arrived at the very end of the ETA hour. Two of the guys started with the heavier items, while the third started taking down single items he could carry solo. We had one spacing issue with a couch, as the legs' screws were stripped, so they weren't going to come off. The team lead started asking me on repeat to sign a waiver, so they wouldn't be responsible for scratching the walls. My friends eventually worked through a plan to get the couch maneuvered to take down the staircase and out the building safely. We lost about 15 minutes with this process. If it were up to the movers, that couch wouldn't have come out. After this episode and moving larger items, eventually all three guys were mainly taking bags of couch cushions and lighter items, instead of other heavier items and boxes (which I needed help with most as a single woman). Once the 2-hour limit was near, the team lead started asking me about extending the time. By this point, most heavier items were out, so we agreed that the family helping me and I would finish the rest of loading up. It was extremely awkward to be asked to fill out paperwork and a review page right in front of the guys at the end. This process needs to be changed. When they show up high, you're at their mercy for getting the job done, as there is no other recourse at this point. I tipped them each $20 but wished I hadn't in retrospect. This was my first experience with hiring movers for loading, and I would not recommend Sebastian Moving Company, nor would I hire them again. Other things they did do satisfactorily: the crew was polite and respectful, wrapped a few furniture items, and got the heavy lifting done. Beyond this, it was really frustrating to see them carrying all the lighter stuff eventually and drawing out the time they were there (and I'm borderline allergic to pot smoke and loathe the smell). On the other end of the move a day later, we worked with a phenomenal pair of movers for the unloading, which gave me a clearer picture of how unfortunate this situation was in St. Louis overall by comparison.

Nice guys, especially Adrian. Could have been a bit better about wearing masks, but they worked hard and treated our things with respect.

This company went above and beyond!
First, they came through last-minute, all the way from St. Louis to the outskirts of St. Charles County after my other mover canceled.
These boys were courteous, communicated really well and took care of my items with so much care!
There was an issue with the truck ending up being a hit/run by an Amazon van with one of the young men in the back of the truck!!
These young men kept going and were so professional!
I would and will recommend to everyone!

These guys are awesome. Definitely the right choice to higher them. Very respectful with the items and the house. They work tirelessly, I didn't even see them rest. The job was done within the set timeline.
They communicate everything to make sure everything is to your liking.
Definitely will hire them again.

Moving is stressful. Add to the fact that you are inviting people who don’t know your home to move your things for you.

This makes it important for movers to be mindful of each job they should be doing.

Now, moving stuff into a container is a specialized job. You, not only have to have experience with moving furniture large and small, light and heavy, but, you also should be able to understand how best to fit it within the confines of the container in an optimized fashion.

The movers did not show any such characteristics. They came in with one experienced person and 2 college aged kids.

Knowing very well that all our stuff may not be able to fit in the 16 ft pod, I wanted it to be filled it to the best capacity possible, which is the reason why I availed the services of 3 people for 4 hours.

Everyone needs training at some point in time, I get it, but letting them run rampant and getting them to decide on the space optimization was not advisable. Moreover, one of the helper was either injured, exhausted from an earlier job or totally in the wrong place. The inexperience exacerbated all of this.

We are moving to another state and are very worried about the condition of our things inside the pod, not only was it optimized for space (we could see open spaces. They also took open boxes, half filled boxes into the pod. It was randomness at best and don’t care about the job just let me finish my time and get out of here at worst.

I could go on about mishandling and other stuff, but, I have already raised my blood pressure reminiscing all of this.

Also they didn’t wear masks even though we did. Maybe its a badge of honor for you personally, but, you shouldn’t be in the service industry if you willingly ignore health concerns.

The mistake that I made was not being assertive enough, especially when I was signing the work order in the end with a big man next to me asking me for signature and rating on the form.

Mover's response:
With all the zeal you put into slamming a crew who tried to make the best out of a less than ideal situation, it would've been wonderful to have heard from you during or after the job. I'm disappointed you let all this time go by w/out making us aware. The residence had 3 levels and the crew tried to fit everything they could into only 1 POD and before it started to rain. I'm sorry you feel the way you do. Thank you for your feedback but not for the slander and assumptions.
