These guys are the real deal. My mover I initially booked coming from out of state cancelled on me at the last minute, so I called hire a helper and they sent me smooth moves. They were on time, they unloaded the truck within 2 hours and I initially paid for 4. The guys were dedicated and the driver was honest and offering of all services. I would book them again for any of my moves in Delaware! Good job guys and thank you!

What a great group of gentlemen. They showed up as scheduled and ready to go. We got started after a brief huddle as what was going and what was staying. Great communication with the movers.

The only reason they are getting 1 star is because you didnt have an option for 0 stars. I would not trust these guys to move a 5 pound bag of feathers, they would find some way to screw something up.
We hired them for 2 hours primarily to help us unload 3 pieces of furniture that were too big and heavy for my wife and I to unload from our moving truck. They attempted to use the hand truck that came with our moving truck however they had no idea how to use it. It was fairly simple, it had a ratchet strap attached which allowed you to secure the furniture to the hand truck...not rocket science. They brought furniture in, not strapped to the hand truck with the strap dragging along. I was waiting for someone to trip over the strap and the furniture looked like it was going fall of the hand truck. I showed them how to use the strap. Next thing I know, they are carrying the hand truck with the furniture on it up the stairs. I'm pretty sure that is not the way a hand truck is supposed to be used.
They broke the first piece of furniture and damaged the my walls as they tried to man handle the piece through the hallway. There was some sort of supervisor on scene who took a look at the damage and assured me he would have it repaired.
The 2 movers clearly were not on the same page and at one point were cursing at each other. They clipped the light fixture outside of my garage and broke it because they were not watching where they were going with the 3rd piece of furniture. At this point, even though we had hired them for 2 hours and we had smaller items they could help with, we didnt want them to break anything else so we asked thanked them for their time and asked them to leave after 45 minutes. Strike 1!
After not hearing from the supervisor for a few days, I called and left a voicemail for him. 2 days later I still had not received a phone call back so I called him again. He assured me he would have someone come to my house at 10am on the weekend to make the repairs. At 11:45, nobody had shown up, no phone call was received so I called them, I was told his repair guy was having car trouble and he would not be able to make it. We agreed to reschedule for a day early in the week at 5pm. Strike 2!
At 5:45 the day they were supposed to show up, I called AGAIN. I was told that they went to the wrong address and were 20 minutes away. They showed up at 6pm, looked at the damaged wall and damaged furniture, slapped some pink putty on the white wall, asked me if I had paint for the walls and told me they had to run to Home Depot for glue for the furniture. Strike 3!
Here it is, 6:45 and they are still not back...I guess I will just sit around hold my breath and wait.
If I had damaged a customers property, I would be pretty apologetic, return phone calls, be on time and if I was running late, I would call to keep the customer informed.

Smooth moves was great. I would recommend them, but don't go through Hire A Helper. They don't refund unused time.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?
First if pre- packing items up pls make sure that it fragile items are security pack and wrap individually and labeled on the box as fragile and that every box or item is labeled with which room you would like that particular box item or piece of furniture. That makes for a smoothmove

We are big on the little things which leads to being able to successfully handle the bigger moves. How to treat ever move as if it was our owe move to a new home or office. Paying attention to the all detials makes for a smooth move
