The first two movers were really inexperienced and my POD was loosely packed. I called AllStar, and the next day the company sent two really good movers (Greg and Tony) to move more stuff and repack the POD. They knew exactly what they were doing and were efficient! Also, I realize there are many third parties so they don’t have control over everything, but the website inaccurately says they will wrap the first 7 items for free, but the first set of movers say they don’t do that type of thing. I don’t know where the disconnect is, but I did specifically choose the company because of that promotional copy. Anyway, it’s worked out, so I am just glad it was positively resolved.

Mover's response:

"Let us know in advance, and we will love wrap your first 7 items for the price above. After the first 7 items, $5 large for items, $2 small for items. Any items not protected could compromise your insurance."

That is the exact statement online. It does not say we give anything for free. It does say "for the above price". The above price is literally next to the tap labelled plastic wrap.

Also, the back up movers came for an extra hour to load extra boxes that were not packed when the original movers were there.

Worse movers ever! When you hire movers I assumed they knew how to wrap glass, disassemble beds and most importantly pack a truck. Half way through the move - which too an inordinate amount of time. This move on the other end was 2.5 hours - no broken glass at all.

We had to completely unpack and then repack the truck which added 3 more hours.

Pick any company EXCEPT ALL-STAR Movers

Mover's response:

If you want the movers to dissemble your furniture, you have to add disassembly which is an extra fee. If you want us to bring plastic wrap that is also an extra charge. If you are on the 4th floor, which you were you have to add enough time and add the flights of stairs to your order. You also didn't add in your review, that we refunded your move and decided not to do it. You called the movers very disrespectful names. We have it on video. After, you came 1.5 hours late with the truck, you wanted to rush the movers and berate them with words because you didn't want to pay. Hireahelper let you get away with that. I can't put the movers in hostile situations and accepting verbal abuse. I won't also be bullied into giving free services. We are sorry it didn't work out. I paid the movers out of my pocket. I'm glad you had a great unload.

Complete disappointment might be an understatement. The most amazing quality of our movers was how slow they moved. Their lack of speed eclipsed both the damage they caused to our walls during the move and the complete disregard they showed for our belongings. I ended up spending an hour repacking the modest amount of our belongings they moved followed by 3 hours of moving the remainder of our boxes And furniture myself. Allstar movers only allstar qualities would be in a race against a hare that they were too stoned to recognize as competition. I would put money on my 3 year old to move more than they did. Maybe if I had confiscated their phones it would have tipped the scale in Allstars direction. These are not professional movers (having hired other movers as a baseline), these are simply individuals who are gutting it out as they wait for the next job in the queue. Buyer beware if you think spending money on this “help” will actually amount to more than Anything you could hope to accomplish alone.

I understand you are disappointed in our mover and that's ok. We can retrain them and thank you for you feedback. I did an investigation. The move was located in Chicago in a very old building, and you lived on the top floor. Those moves take time, because the elevator is very small and slow. We are making small trips back and forth to the truck. Also, when you are in a build like that and you are the top floor the moves takes longer than expected. On top of that the distance from your apartment room to the elevator, and the distance from the elevator to the truck all come into play. Rushing the movers only backfires. We recommend booking an extra mover instead of using two on moves like this. One last note for anyone who is reading, if you feel like the move is not going as you expected please call the front office. That's what we are here for. We usually movers on standby, or I can do an investigation on the spot. After you release the payment, and I hear about a complaint days later there is not much I can do. Thanks for you feedback.
