Clearly communicated their arrival time, worked hard the entire time, took care in moving more fragile pieces. Very happy with their work ethic. Would definitely hire again

TL:DR - On time, worked hard, prepared, respectful of property. However, would not use Intuit again, as they changed the terms of our agreement without me accepting them, and wanted to leave a few hours earlier than contracted.

Intuit worked with a lot of changes we had to make - our closing was pushed a few days and they did accommodate multiple date changes. Additionally, we moved during the great gas shortage of ‘21, and could not get a 26’ truck (no fuel in the available trucks) and instead had to get two 16’ trucks (with full gas tanks) instead.

I paid for 2 movers for 6 hours, starting around 12:30pm and moved about 3.5 miles (7-10 minute drive). They showed up on time. We have a 4 bedroom home and were advised that we needed at least three movers. However, we sold most of our furniture, made a trip with a lot of random stuff, and mostly had boxes. We also participated in the move as well, but this was the first time I ever used a moving company and others who had used movers before advised that 2 would be able to get the job done. They brought 3 movers regardless, which admittedly worked out well, but the third guy couldn’t stay the whole time. Since I didn’t agree to pay for a third guy, I figured that was a decision they decided to make internally.

They loaded the first truck in a little over an hour and did a very good job packing the truck efficiently. They took a short break and hesitated about loading the second truck. Most of the stuff left in the home were odd and ends like bedding bags, fragile glasses, boxes with open tops, etc. and they didn’t want to move any of the stuff in the second truck because it may break. I told them to load it regardless, and about half way through, they said that they weren’t loading any more stuff because they wanted to start unloading the first truck before the third mover had to leave. This was around 1:45-2:00, and I was confused because I paid to have them until 6:30pm. I agreed to take the first truck over to our new home to start unloading. My wife stayed back and continued to load the second truck solo.

They started unloading the first truck around 2:15. It took them about an hour and 15 minutes to unload the first truck, and about 45 minutes in, the third guy had to leave. The movers were careful to try and not damage the walls and I was pleased with their efficiency. The 2 main movers also wheeled a refrigerator down a wet, grassy hill down to the basement and it didn’t fit in the door, so they wheeled it back up the hill into the garage.

At around 3:35, the movers were done with the first truck and wanted to leave. I told them that we had a second truck and that I was disappointed that they were trying to leave after 3 hours. They tried to tell me they brought a third mover, that the man hours equaled the time they were contracted, and that they were contracted to load and unload one truck. I told them that I didn’t pay for a third mover, it was their choice to bring him, and that I needed them to help unload the second truck. They agreed but told me they couldn’t wait for me to finish loading it, that I would need to bring it as is. I brought it back and it took them about 20 minutes to unload what we had on there, and I told them to put the items in the garage only in interest of time. They left around 4:35.

Their quality of work was good, and I admittedly underestimated the time/manpower it took to move; however, my main issue is that they changed the terms of our agreement without me accepting them first, and expected me to be ok with it. They were willing to leave me high and dry only moving half our stuff. If they weren’t comfortable taking the job as it was, they shouldn’t have accepted it at all.

Brandon and Austin were awesome! They were on time and very efficient. Will definitely use Intuit Moving again.
I suggest anyone using HireaHelper.com make sure they read the contract and conditions before they sign. You will save yourself the aggravation of having required items on hand. ie: straps, moving pads for each piece of furniture.
