The crew given to me by Hire a Helper in Ohio were a pretty friendly bunch, but friendly doesn't mean competent. I think they were called Universal Movers. They talked a lot about being related to one another, and they bickered with one another like brothers. Two i particular. As they entered my home the first thing I showed them was the blankets and straps I'd purchase, (they had told me they didn't supply either.) so they would know where to find them. About 3 hours later the head man came to me and asked me where the straps were. It turns out that they had PACKED my expensive box of straps. They ended up using my roll of clear plastic Saran wrap type styff to "secure" my life's possessions. At their request I gave them a good rating. But, when my possessions finally arrived at their Florida destination, (three weeks later, but that's another story) I saw how they had "secured" my possessions. Items were spilled, boxes overturned, a desk which had been tossed upside down, unprotected, with boxes on top, was broken. My antique dining room table tossed upside down on a pile like an after thought. Worst of all, MY most cherished possession, my father's pool table (he passed in 1979) had been carried out and put in the trailer and loaded with boxes. It wasn't covered or wrapped the legs had not been removed, or protected. My unloading team was shocked at how completely careless my loading crew had been. My dear father's pool table, which had been his prized possession was terribly damaged! Legs broken on both sides, and the felt stretched. At the start when they toured my home at their arrival, how important that was to me and why. I'm heartbroken over it all. Upset and dissapointed.

This was an above average moving crew. The guys were on time. They were communicative and extremely polite. They asked questions about where everything went and placed it all in the right spots. If it needed to be moved after the fact, it wasn't a problem. They took direction easily, adjusting their approach to moving in an item I asked them to be extra careful with. I would likely hire this crew again.

I did not appreciate being forced to tip in person, especially after the did not complete the requested packing (not due to time constraints, just purely didn’t know how to pack). Would not recommend or hire again.
