I used MetroMovers a year ago and it was great: two terrific guys who did the job quickly. This time, it was less stellar. There was one guy who seemed like a professional mover, and with him were two teenagers or young adults who needed a LOT of direction from the guy. It would have been great to have a similar team to what I had before, which was super efficient.

The moving crew was excellent although I had requested three helpers and they only sent two. They were great as a pair at least! Do not hire this company to pack your household goods until they get better at it. Thanks to the loading crew though!

I requested a time between 10-11, but the confirmation email I received from this company said 11-11:15. They called around 10:30 to say they are running late, will be about 11:30. At 11:40 I call to ask for ETA, they say 30 more min. They blamed "unexpected" rain that had been in the forecast for several days. I pointed that out, and then the owner decided I was acting too threatening and said she was canceling my appt. I had to grovel to get her to change her mind, and they finally showed up after 12:30. Once they were there they moved quickly. However, they could have been more careful as a few of our pieces of furniture were nicked going down a single flight of stairs (this could be a function of us owning a lot of cheap furniture, but they could still have been a bit more careful). If they had showed up between 10-11 I would rate a 4, but the tardiness and threatening to cancel over a discussion of the weather forecast was far less than professional.

After a very pleasant start with the process, we had Very unhappy outcome. Upon unloading our furniture at our destination, it became apparent that the packers did not adequately use the packing blankets, so that the top of our custom-made dining room table was ruined. The gouges in it were so deep that a professional was unable to smooth them. We had to have the top distressed, so that it looked like it was supposed to be that way. It is not okay. All six dining room chairs and the matching hutch were also ruined. We also had a puncture hole in a red leather living room chair. When I spoke to Metromovers and sent them the photos, they were appalled and said they would cover it. When I sent them the modest bill for $245 several times (both email and snail mail), I got no response. They would also not answer my phone messages. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Patrick and Douglas had to unload our truck full of heavy furniture from a bit of a distance and up a flight of stairs. They took care of everything quickly and easily and even arranged everything exactly the way we needed. They were great, on time and worked extremely hard. We would definitely recommend them to anyone moving in the Albuquerque area and we will certainly call them again when we move.

Michael was professional, kept in contact every step of the way from booking to confirmation of POD delivery to ETA on unloading day. He was friendly and courteous, careful with my belongings, helpful with placing and replacing boxes into various rooms of house. He showed up as scheduled and discussed, was prepared and was a solid worker. Definitely recommend and I'll also use again when I move from rental house in a year.

Make sure to have plenty of blankets to protect your furniture. Box up as much as you can to optimize space. Have some ratcheting straps so we can properly secure your belongings.
