Pre-move: The owner, Rick, never called me to confirm; when I called him two days before my loading job to confirm the time and day, he was curt and rude over the phone. He also said his guys wouldn't have any moving supplies like dollies on them (I've booked through hire a helper a few times before, and the helpers ALWAYS have these supplies. So I ended up having to rent my own equipment). I would have rescheduled but was already cutting it close with my move date. Day of move: The helpers were an hour late, which was cutting my loading dock reservation very close. They did a good job (from what I saw) of loading all of my stuff in, but took 4 hours to load up my 1-bedroom (I booked them for 3). I've moved all of these items 4-5 times beforehand, and the loaders have never taken over 3 hours. When they asked me to call Rick to extend the booking for another hour, he wasn't polite or courteous; instead, he sounded like a seedy car salesman asking me to add an additional hour (of course I'd need more time; all of my stuff was sitting outside in the open behind my moving truck). It was a hot day in July and I needed to get on the road for my 11-hour drive so I extended the time to an hour. They ended up only taking 30 extra minutes (of course, charging me the full hour). I would not recommend them if you want a stress-free moving experience. Even though the movers themselves were polite, the whole experience was terrible compared to my other experiences with HireaHelper.

Ricky called the day before the move and went over a checklist to make sure we would have everything that we needed. The two guys showed up on time and were ready to get to work. They were both respectful and nice. They worked very hard.

Overall, the crew did a great job on the move for me! James, Antonio, and Marshawn were very nice and worked hard to stay on track. There was some initial miscommunication and the guys were a little late, but once they got started they worked hard. They did a pretty good job taking care of our items, but there was some damage noted as my fiancee and I were unwrapping the items from the moving pads the next day (currently we are talking to the company owner, Mr. Kirby, to resolve this). Even so, these guys were great and pleasant to work with and really helped us out of a bind as our original movers (not booked through HireAHelper) no call-no showed on Friday night, but these guys took the job on Saturday with very little notice! I would recommend using them again and look forward to resolving the damage issue with Mr. Kirby soon!

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
They expect the initial phone call in timely manner to discuss the details of their move, time of arrival and what services we provide.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
We show up on time, introduce ourselves, do the complimentary walk through in order to get familiar with their residence and determine what items are going on a load and where items go on an unload.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
The best moves are a wonderful collaboration our moving skills, basic tools, and the customer provide equipment and protective materials such as moving blankets, stretch wrap, bubble wrap and mattress bags.
What types of moves have you handled?
We've been in business for more than 13 years over which time we've done local, long distance, and office moves. The majority of the moves have been local residential moves which is our core business.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
I was in the mortgage industry for almost 20 years when I started this company as a way to give my customers quality moves at an affordable price. I really enjoy walking into a home on a load job and their items are everywhere and in every room and watching the customer's face light up when we successfully empty the home into their moving truck safely and securely.
What training do you provide your crew members?
Each mover receives thorough class room policy and procedure training before they ever go out on a moving job. Then they get on going on the job practical training with regular assessments of their progress.
