All in all I if I would use one word to describe this service, I would say the experience was odd. Hire a Helper was GREAT! Responsive, transparent and customer-centric. I booked Safety Movers based on ratings and no show rates. This was my second attempt at booking as an independent moving group already double booked and cancelled, so I was a bit gun shy. I called on Wednesday to confirm our Friday move, and the individual who answered the phone seemed a little confused as to why I would be calling. he put me on hold for a few minutes, and came back to say, "yes, we have you booked 8-9 am in some town (not mine). I said no, that it was 12-1 pm in another city, so he put me on hold again. He came back and confirmed he did have that and that we were all set. The day of I called at 12:40 pm to confirm that the movers would still be at my place by 1 pm and was told he was just about to call me, and they had the wrong address and had been running late, but would be there shortly. The two individuals showed up after 1:30 pm with no equipment whatsoever. My father and I had moved almost 85% of the apartment to the truck, and needed them to move the mattress, box spring, and two piece sectional couch. We were still paying the entire cost. The younger crew member was polite and respectful, but his partner mentioned numerous times that if they had to bring anything down the steps it was going to be terrible. We knew this--that is why we wanted to pay people to do this, and why we paid $155 for 30 minutes of work carrying 4 items. After the move was completed they were instructed to wait by their boss to make me call Hire a Helper to release the funds. They also told me that they are really landscapers and were just subcontracting for extra cash, and that they only get paid $10 an hour even thought Hire a Helper and Safety Movers makes so much more. we tipped them extra, feeling bad for them, however we spent A LOT of money for very little work, and I was left feeling duped.

Although I had trouble getting a hold of the company, once Jason and James showed up, they were very effective. We would certainly not have been able to get everything moved in the 2 hours without them! They even hoisted box springs up and over a second story balcony, as the stairway was too narrow. They were very polite and worked hard.

The movers were very careful and courteous. They moved our stuff as efficiently and safely as possible, and were pleasant to talk to. We will definitely request them the next time we move!

James and Jason were certainly efficient. Our job was completed well within the two hour time-frame. Additionally, it is worth noting that they were on time to the job and called in advance. They were mindful of our walls while moving furniture down the hallway and took direction well. I would recommend their services and would use them again.

The crew was very efficient and we got the move done in one day. A little confusion at first as to the start time but Chris and Buddy did an excellent job!

These guys were awesome!! They showed up on time and worked very hard for the entire four hours they were hired for even in the extreme heat we had for the day. They were very careful with our furniture and how they moved it. I would DEFINITELY use them again and recommend the two guys who helped us move. GREAT JOB!!!!

Safety Movers were super helpful! They called were later than scheduled, but they called to let me know which I appreciated. I also had made a reservation for 3 guys for 2 hours, but only 2 showed up. They were able to get my job done within 2 hours though and I was not charged for the third guy. I appreciated the polite and responsive service. Thanks for making my move go smoothly!
