It started with a phone call @ 7am asking if the could start early. My husband was still at our old address, and I was in VA working. The person who called me I believe he was the owner of the business, became flustered with me, when he asked if he could start early I called him back after speaking with my husband, to tell him NO!
They loaded everything in 3 hours. My husband informed me they were argumentative with him, complaining that they had another job to do paying more money. They rush everything into the truck. Dragging my furniture, according to my husband, he said something to them and he was ignored. He drove the truck straight to our new home in VA. He got here late in the night. The next day on time, Duck movers showed up to unload my furniture. When the started to move things out of the truck. My credenza’s leg rolled towards the front of the truck and the door was hanging off the hinges. They looked at me as I hit the roof! Next, my beautiful 3k dining room table was scratched, a piece of wood chunk is missing on my table!
My 4k electric bed is rendered useless. I can not plug it in the wall, because the prongs to plugged it in, are both broke off. The mattress was dragged the material is frayed, and dirty!!
My nightstand is missing the hardware to open the drawings it’s been broken off on the bottom drawer. I’ve got so many of my wooden furniture scratched and damages. If they didn’t want my business, they should have turned it down and I would have gotten someone else.

They were very competent and thorough. They were careful with our furniture. Nothing broke during the move. They put everything in the proper place. I'm pleased as punch with them.

My experience with Affordable Guys was great on moving day. They call the day before to confirm and you could request they call you on the morning of, when they are on their way.
The move was super fast! It was a combination of my meticulous packing skills and their moving skills as a team of two guys. Nothing was broken and they finished in record time.
However, my concerns lay with Hire a Helper and the lack of communication about the hourly charge and not being refunded any full hours not being used. In the future, I will just work directly with the moving company.

The guys were great! In the crazy heat they worked continuously to get our 2 containers loaded. They were friendly, courteous and helpful. I definitely recommend them!

Unfortunately my guys could not make it at the scheduled time but I was called prior to find out if a delayed arrival was acceptable. I received a call about an hour before their arrival to ensure it was still “a go”.
Courteous and professional. Did everything I asked to be done.

Affordable Movers were amazing! They were careful with our belongings and worked diligently. We needed more time and they were accommodating and worked for two more hours. Very efficient and professional workers! We totally recommend them.

Affordable guys moving labor helped me with moving my single bedroom stuff to the nearest storage unit; Honestly, service was not that great. Furniture was not completely dismantled and not wrapped (with the furniture blankets i provided) while moving the stuff into the moving truck, which caused few scratches to the premium furniture. I had to personally help the movers with moving and organizing the furniture and boxes. During the COVID (pandemic situation), none has taken any precautions to protect the customers, they haven't used any face masks or gloves.
These two gentlemen were extremely nice and friendly but I wouldn't take their service again. I might have picked a wrong service to move my stuff, as they aren't the right people to pack your furniture like professional movers.
I would suggest everyone who uses "Affordable guys moving" services, to dismantle and pack your furniture by yourself if you care about not damaging your furniture.

Were they on time? Yes
Were they prepared? I had to go buy straps. If I was told to have them I missed it. That really added to the stress.
Did they work hard? The one fella w a beard was always working when I looked. The other guy directed him a lot go get this... pick that up next... he was on his Bluetooth a lot!
Were they respectful of my things? Over all I wasn’t watching but at the end he (The guy w the Bluetooth) stood on my grandmother’s Hoosier to hook up the straps. I was very concerned he was going to break it. He didn’t but I was like WHAT ARE YOU DOING? His whole weight was on it. I had another antique chair that was packed ok as far as I could tell but the upholstered cushion was stuffed between the straps and the Hoosier. I didn’t think he should have done either of these things! They also left several small thing behind. It was annoying! They were pleasant to talk to though.
