SCAM ALERT!! This was an extremely stressful time for me and these movers were highly recommended but I don't understand how or why. We got most of the stuff out the day before, and I'd tried to reduce the time, but the referral company wouldn't without talking to me specifically, apparently, even though I called it in. These movers refused to use any of my protective coverings for my stuff- even taking off the ones I had on my grandfather clock face cover, wouldn't put the doors back on my fridge, and left tons of empty space throughout my storage unit though I told them mostly what I'd needed them to do was rearrange and tightly pack the storage unit. They randomly put end tables & other things in sideways on top of things, my fridge drawers on different boxes and put a garbage bag on the floor between the dryer and the bookcase behind it (they said they did that on purpose), instead of on top of something else. They caused me additional costs getting another unit because my things couldn't fit in the first one... so the stuff had to stay in the truck over night 'til I could get another one, and I was charged an extra day on the truck. They 'got lost' coming back from the store even though I watched them drive right passed me & pretty much wouldn't do anything without me specifically directing them on how to do it. I should not have had to duct tape my fridge doors back on because they refused to attach them... I should not have had to climb up on top of boxes and show/tell them how to pack and stack anything in order for them to do it themselves... I was assured when I was given this company that they were professional movers who would take care of me and ease my stresses, assisting in whatever aspect of moving I needed... instead they scammed me, did not do what I needed, and then blamed me for their service- which by the way I even had to throw away one of their sweaty shirts left behind on my counter! They took advantage of me and scammed me. They showed up on time & left exactly on the original scheduled time but NOTHING about what they did was even closely resembling 'professional mover', including the way they answered my follow up phone call. BIG TIME SCAMMERS!! NEVER recommend these people to ANYONE!! And NEVER EVER willing to use them again! My money was wasted on scammers-

Arrived on time, calling us first. They worked hard and did not take time to answer their cell phones which we appreciated. They were careful of our property and goods and did a good job of efficiently packing our POD. We would use them again.

I hired S & L Movers to move heavy pieces of furniture from my house into my garage in prep for a pre-moving furniture sale. Wow! Sam and Kaneith were fantastic! They arrived right on time were eager to get to work. Sam and Kaneith were very professional and took extra care with the heavy pieces of furniture when navigating the 90 degree turn in my stairs and into my garage. They were very respectful of my furniture, doors and stairs being careful not to bang or knick any walls or wood. I especially liked that they discussed how they planned to move each piece and continually communicated with one another so that each knew what the other was doing or going to do. I highly recommend S &L for your move. In fact, I will ask for Kaneith and Sam by name when I move out of my house in the spring.

I hired one mover to help my friends and family since we were short handed. Sam was so wonderful and made ALL the difference with moving. He called in advance to tell me when he would arrive. He was right on time, sharp. He was VERY hard working, respectful, pleasant with great character. He was at the prime of his age so he was very helpful and strong with lifting and moving all of the difficult and heavy items. The entire process with Hire a Helper and S&L Express was very customer service oriented and made the process of ordering and moving easy for me...which is VERY important during stressful times such as moving. I would recommend this company to anyone, but especially someone with a kids and a family looking for respectable and responsible moving labor help.

The movers called in advance to let me know their ETA. They arrived within 5 minutes of that time. They were very good. Willing to do what I needed. I felt like they worked really hard and they completed all I needed them to do very quickly without any hesitation. They were able to schedule me with just two days notice. I will definitely use them again.

My scheduled service was delayed due to unexpected delays at the job prior to mine. However, S&L kept me well informed of the delay and this was not an big issue for me. They actually sent out 4 movers instead of 2 to make up for any delay. The 4 men worked extremely efficiently, professionally, and courteously. I was really impressed with the overall service and would recommend them again.

These gents were skilled and patient. If I ever move again, I would definitely hire them again. Reminder: their job is faster and smoother if you can complete your packing/boxing before they arrive.

This was our second experience with S&L, and it was fine, although not as good as the first time using them. We'd hire them again, just had a few glitches and a novice that made us nervous for his safety.

We've noticed that customers who have items already packed and furniture items wrapped save time and money. However, we are more than happy to assist with any of these task the day of the move, just please book adequate time if any of these services are needed

What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Our favorite part is seeing customers looks of relief after we've assisted them and also knowing that our company assisted in minimizing some of the customers stress that comes along with moving
What training do you provide your crew members?
Our service providers and sub-contracted and most already have the needed skills to perform the job. I've heard that they stay updated by actual on the job experiences dealing with unexpected issues and how-to video guides available online
