we are currently filing damages claims for the items they have ruined so we are reposting the summary we provided to HireAHelper
Movers were scheduled to arrive between 1-2pm to unload a 16 ft budget truck. Calls were had prior where we described we had packed boxes bins and furniture within the truck. Since we booked for two hours, we had our truck rental closing at 5pm since this was all predetermined. The movers didn’t show until about 5pm, three hours late from their scheduled time. They proceeded to press for more time to complete the job for an additional cost which we refused because they were late and had no proper equipment for the load.
For a “professional” moving company, they showed up with one dolly to unload this truck amongst two men. They ended up using our equipment in order to help them move faster. During the unload they were beyond careless, dropping things right and left off the dolly as if they hadn’t ever used one before.
I’m still finding out more information as I’m interviewing my friends who were also helping us which they ended up being more helpful than these guys. Our friends were moving items in and heard a clatter from the elevator they just left and saw them scrambling to pick up items and heard one of them say “don’t tell them”. Ironically, they came up shortly after and told me (who hadn’t seen this happen) that it fell in the truck. My friends also saw them drop a simple mirror that was packed well off the dolly, this is a basic job. They reported many times that these guys were dropping items repeatedly in an elevator. I would hate to see them handle stairs.
They were chucking bins and bags right and left in front of us and we heard multiple items shatter. We are still assessing the damage. During the calls, we mentioned we wanted the bed frame assembled, they never did that. Lastly, one of the guys came up and apologized for the inadequacy of the company, gave us his phone number and mentioned if we wanted qualified movers who weren’t on drugs to give him and his team a call. Honestly we would provided this was our experience with mbg, this was an absolutely horrid way to move and we will be informing everyone we know to stay far away from this joke of a “company”. As a small business owner myself, the lack of professionalism is also astonishing. The owner kept pointing the finger at us or hire a helper instead of taking responsibility for his team, he’s also currently ghosting us when trying to relay his team’s actions.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
-Introductory phone call within 24 hrs of your booking to review your job requirements -Professional customer service representatives to assist with any of your pre-move questions -A dedicated representative of our company to call if any changes need to be made.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
Introductory phone call from the crew 30 minutes before arrival -A crew that arrives on-time, ready to assist on your move -Uniformed crew members -tools, door jam protector and rug runner as well as a carton dolly and a furniture dolly. Basic hand tools for basic assemble/disassemble, that may be needed to move some items. -a walkthrough of your home with the crew to discuss your goals for the move.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
-Please utilize the many years of experience of our service reps to assist with any questions you have leading up o your move -If you are loading, you will want to make sure you have all the right supplies to ensure a safe move. Our reps can help with your planning, but some of the things you might need are furniture blankets, rope, straps, mattress bags, tape and boxes Please make sure you label the side of all boxes for your new home. -If you are unloading, you might want to try to secure a packing.
