Melancon Moving And Freight Services is a family-owned and operated business, with over 21 years of experience, that provides moving labor services to load and/or unload your moving truck or POD. In addition, we also provide packing services, as well as pre and post-move cleaning of homes and apartments, for an extra charge. Our company services all of central Illinois, including; Decatur, Springfield, Bloomington-Normal, Champaign-Urbana, Lincoln, Clinton, Taylorville, and Mattoon. We look forward to providing you with a professional moving experience. Please Note: 1) We do charge an extra $25.00 per job/per location, for any flights of stairs past the second floor (unless there is an elevator that can be utilized). 2) Anything more than a 3-Man team requires a minimum of 72 hours notice. 3) We are unable to accept any job if we have not been able to make contact with the customer after two (2) attempts, in order to discuss the details of the move, even if our schedule is open for that particular date.

I highly recommend Melancon Moving And Freight Services! We moved from Lexington, KY with a 26 foot rental truck and hired their services for unloading the truck. They were hard working, polite and extremely professional! They were very well prepared for the job and made sure that no damage was caused to walls, doorways and floors. We were so impressed they were able to not only remove the heavy items off the truck, but unloaded the entire truck in 2 hours! We can't say enough good things about their service. They made relocating to another state easy for us. We highly recommend them and will be using them again for our next move! If I could give them more stars I would!

Not enough tie downs were used although they were provided and packed with the freight, load shifted and washer and dryer were not tied down properly and dryer was damaged.

I was extremely impressed with the level of professionalism. They called several times to confirm, were prompt and very careful with our items. We had a couch that was extremely difficult to get out the door and they went above and beyond to protect the furniture and walls. They loaded the truck quickly and efficiently. The next day after we arrived, I received a phone call asking if everything had arrived in the truck in good shape and if we had any concerns. I never write recommendations but this time, I would be remiss if I failed to comment. Excellent service and beyond all of my expectations.

You can trust Doug and his crew (his sons) with your move. There was great communication, they were careful with my items, and made sure my truck was packed perfectly for the long drive.
