We booked Hire A Helper to load our POD with short notice (3 days) as we schedule one day to drop off, load and pick up the POD. Louie (Luis) and American Discount Moving were amazing. They were incredible flexible to align timing with the POD delivery window, showed up promptly, knew exactly what they were doing and were exceptionally careful when moving large/heavy objects. They also managed to fit everything into the POD given their skilled arrangement and loading of the furniture, boxes, etc. Excellent work by these gentlemen. Definitely would recommend and would use them again.

The two gentlemen arrived promptly at the specified time and after a tour of my condo to determine placement of items set to work. My property was treated carefully and respectfully and they indulged me in moving items about. They took no breaks and speedily completed their job. I would certainly not hesitate to use American Discount Moving again. I was very pleased and would certainly recommend them wholeheartedly.

It's hard to do a thorough review until our items are actually unpacked and that will not be until mid-June. Once we see how everything comes out of the POD, then we will know better how they packed it. They were supposed to come on April 18th, but because of an unforeseen circumstance, could not come until April 19th, which threw us back a day from what we needed to get done before closing on the 20th. Loui came by on the 18th to give an evaluation. At that time he said it would all fit in our POD. He insisted it would, which gave us peace of mind. On the 19th he kept insisting that everything would fit but it did not. That left us scrambling to figure out what to do with the extra possessions. It was very stressful since we are not moving locally and needed a last minute place to store everything and a way to get it to our final destination. It would have been better to have known it would probably not all fit from the beginning and then we could have made timely arrangements. Loui was very polite. It just did not turn out as we had hoped. We are hopeful that everything will come off the POD in one piece!
( making extra boxes ) of course - it ain't all going to fit ...emptying the dresser drawers of your clothes and putting them in boxes adds extra work on your self.... and extra boxes for us ..so next time leave the clothes in the dresser / chest and don't make extra work on you... by packing the kitchen at the last minute. Added to the load... What I saw..would and could have fit in the pod ..I've been in the moving industry over 30 years and i know its very stressfull.. once again I am sorry everything didn't fit ..but your items in the Pod are tight we put as much we could in it safely..Good luck in your new home ??

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
We usually give preparations advice on how and what to expect when we come in ....and a procedures we follow when loading or unloading items from there truck
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
We usually get boxes stacked up accordingly.... make sure there's always a path and make sure that there's nothing that could cause anyone to fall slip, safety is a number one priority
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Best thing is to stack boxes according to size , always have a free and open path where people could come in and out and make sure there is no tape , paper or boxes on the floor with someone could get hurt
What types of moves have you handled?
We've had done many personal home moves & office moves also where we have to inventory and describe items do a inventory sheet and professionally shrink wrap every item for protection
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
You get to meet a variety of people in this industry and sometimes make good friends
What training do you provide your crew members?
once my crew members are hired... I personally spend anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 weeks in training and showing them about safety packing and loading....but also letting them know why it's done this way
