I hired the Grade A folks because they weren't super expensive, and had fairly decent reviews. While everything started out okay, it quickly became apparent that the folks were not very experienced with packing the moving truck - extra space between pieces of furniture, furniture not tied down, and furniture stacked and loaded in weird ways. They started out working at what seemed like a quick pace, but it slowed to the point where the folks took an extra hour (3 total) and still did not finish loading my packed 1 bedroom apartment. The movers also did not bring anything to protect the furniture on moving it down stairs - most all of my furniture got slid down the stairs, rather than carried. The movers used the hallway of my apartment building as a staging zone, blocking walkways and even other residents' doors. If I had to move again out of my old building, I would not ever consider Grade A movers again, I felt like they didn't work particularly hard or with a purpose, and I felt like some of my furniture wasn't treated as having value.
This move involved a third-floor apartment with a very large volume of items, and in order to safely and efficiently transport belongings downstairs, temporary staging in common areas was necessary during portions of the move. At no point were residents prevented from accessing the building, and we did not receive any complaints from management or other tenants during the service.
Regarding the furniture handling, our crew used the methods necessary to safely maneuver items through stairways and tight spaces without causing damage. We are also unaware of any damage claims being submitted after the move.
As for the loading process and timing, truck packing can vary depending on item size, stair access, building layout, and the volume of belongings involved. Our team worked continuously throughout the move and completed the service to the best of our ability under the conditions present that day.
We always strive to provide professional and affordable service, and while we understand not every experience will meet every customer’s expectations, we stand by the effort and care our crew provided during this move.
