I was disappointed with the service that I received from Promovers. I had hired them for two hours. They were barely there an hour. That's not why I was disappointed.
I am a single, mature woman. I knew I wouldn't be able to move my heavier items and set up my bed, computer desk, and TV by myself. That's why I hired help in the first place. I was hoping for a little more help placing furniture where I wanted it. They didn't ask or welcome any direction as to which boxes went in which room. Everything just got plopped in the middle of the room. If I wanted something in a specific room, I had to intercept them at the door to tell them where to place it. I had to ask them to help me place my TV on the stand. They told me that I would have to put the legs back on my computer desk before they could place it where I wanted it. They didn't even take my mattress and box spring out of the protective bags. They just propped them against the wall. I had to struggle to set up my bed by myself after they left.
To be fair, the young men were extremely efficient in unloading the truck. They didn't damage anything. They just weren't very helpful and I wasn't assertive about having them move stuff around. Perhaps they are under instructions to just "unload and go," because that's basically all they did.

I hired Promovers (Montrell and Dorian) to help pack our portable storage unit. Montrell and Dorian were on time, polite and professional, worked tirelessly for the time booked, made sure all the big and heavy things were on the unit and offered suggestions on how to handle the stuff that didn't fit. I highly recommend this duo and would work with/recommend them. Great experience!!!

I liked Andrew and his crew. The job was bigger than I understood, and they worked hard and longer than originally scheduled. However, an extraordinary fraction of our possessions were found to be damaged at the final destination, and I have to point the finger at the packing and loading (into PODS containers) that they did. About 1/3 of the furniture sustained damage-- scratches and/or gouges-- and a few dozen pieces of dishware and glass ware were broken too. When I saw how things were packed in the PODS containers, and how smaller items were packed within boxes, it was in hindsight not surprising that there was so much damage.
I supplied the packing supplies-- boxes, blankets, etc. In some cases probably more blankets were needed; but Andrew is the professional, and if he told me I needed to get more blanketes I would have done so. Some stemware was too tall for cells it was put in, and sometimes multiple glass items were put in the same cell, resulting in predictable breakage.
I would hire Promovers again only if I was in a position to give a ton of oversight over the packing and loading.

1&1/2 hour late. No dolly, didn’t seem to be prepared at all. Dressed poorly. Talked with each other more than they actually worked. Didn’t seem to know what to do, and I was instructing them on where things should go, they put everything in wrong place! I feel they were too expensive for work they actually did! I would NEVER use them again.

The team of (3) were on time, and worked at a moderate pace, being careful while loading the truck. I had provided 2 dozen moving blankets to cover and separate wooden furniture, which were not used in as many places as I had wished, and I stepped in to slightly separate and pad some of these furnishings so as not to have them rubbing together during the bumpy half hour ride in a 26 foot moving truck to our destination. This team was quite methodical in loading the truck, which was filled to the hilt, and this "puzzle" was well organized. My belongings arrived in basically good shape, although very few items were brand new or in pristine shape that required "kid gloves" to handle and protect. I did have this team locked in for 5 hours, but halfway thru they confirmed they were scheduled to leave after 3-hours. A quick call to their manager quickly cleared this up. Unloading was much faster, which additionally took place in the pouring rain, but this did not slow them down, and unloading went fast and smooth. The team was respectful of me and my belongings. I would use this team again, although I hope never to actually have to move again! All in all a good experience. I'd give them a 9 out of 10 rating.
