I hired 2 movers for 2 hours. The first mover showed but didn’t not speak English. I called and explained that I do not speak Spanish and was assured that the 2nd mover would speak English. When he arrived, it turned out he didn’t speak English either.
The office told me I could either use a translation app to communicate with them or they could direct them over the phone for me. When I asked why they didn’t call and tell me, so I could arrange to have a Spanish speaker here, they said it had never been a problem with any other customer—they also had no English speaking movers available today.
The movers themselves were fine - for the most part they were careful with my things, but I certainly did not get the same 2 hours of moving I would have gotten had there not been the communication problems.
The office staff was not very helpful and pretty flippant about the language barrier. I had no idea I needed to verify the language of the movers when I booked my move.
I will not use them again, based on how the office staff mishandled the details of my move.

They were a few hours late.
Helpers arrived unannounced on bicycles with no water and dehydrated. Good guys and worked hard but did not speak English so communication was difficult. They had no basic moving equipment (dolly, etc )

The movers were on time and did a good job. The language barrier was a bit stressful but we managed. I would recommend Elite Moving.

I do not recommend working with Elite Moving Service. I've moved several times within cities and across the country, and this is one of the worst experiences I've had moving. When the movers arrived, they only had a budget rental truck and 1 hand truck. They did not have any dollies, moving blankets, or materials to protect furniture, which I expect movers to bring or to explicitly tell me I will need to provide. Because they only had 1 hand truck, they had to carry most items with 2 movers at a time, which took longer than rolling everything on dollies with wheels. When moving the furniture, the staff tried to carry my queen sized bed out of the bedroom fully put together to take it down 4 floors, without attempting the quick disassembly. Instead, my family member quickly took the bed apart so they would not try to carry it down fully put together and damage the bed frame.
When the staff brought items down to the street, they put furniture like a TV stand upside down directly on the concrete, causing damage that could have been avoided. The staff threw several furniture items up onto the truck, rather than carefully placing it. Thankfully, my family and I had moved everything already on our own, except for the large furniture items, or more would have been damaged. I am shocked that only a bookcase and the TV stand had noticeable damage, after watching the staff throw furniture in the truck, without using any moving blankets or
tying anything down in the truck.
This all happened after Elite Moving Services had a truck break down, so they were not able to come on the day that we scheduled them (Friday), but instead came on Saturday. I would rather move everything myself than work with this group, as the staff were polite, but otherwise working with this company a terrible experience.
