Before booking these movers, I scoured Hire a Helper for reviews to make sure I was hiring a reputable company who would work hard and do a good job. I picked Allstar movers because they had extremely high ratings. I should have looked elsewhere for reviews because this company has terrible reviews on other sites. Our move was terrible. The movers were slower than molasses. My husband and I moved more things by far than our “professional” movers did. One even commented “wow she’s working harder than we are.” I am extremely disappointed. I also paid more for these movers to pack a truck than I did to have actual professionals pack and unload the previous time we moved. Never again with Allstar movers and never again will I use Hire a Helper. Stay far away.

Thanks for choosing Allstar Movers. You're move was scheduled for 2 helpers and 2 hours. The job went over one hour. You lived on the 4th floor. It is very unrealistic to schedule 2 helpers and 2 hours for a fourth floor move in Chicago. A better choice would have been booking 3 or 4 helpers and 2 hours. It is also cheaper that way and the movers will get some quicker. Thanks

Stressful to deal with and couldn't get my couch up.

Mover's response:

You booked 2 helpers, and with over 60 stairs. We advised you to booked more people, but you didn't want to. On your invoice you told us you had 1 flight of stairs. When we ask you to correct it, you didn't look so happy. I think this is were the stress came in. We prefer customers to be truthful on adding the flights of stairs. It helps us know who we are going to send and if the crew may need extra help. We would have loved to send another crew of 2 to help with this move because of the stairs, and it was 100 degrees outside. Also, your sleeper sofa could not fit. We even showed you the measurements with a tape measure. It didn't even make it through the front door. We took photos of everything. Sorry, you felt that way, however it is our responsibility to tell you that instead of damaging the apartment building you live in by trying to force the couch in. Thanks for choosing us. We are glad the rest of your items were unloaded safely.

Arrived outside of the specified window of time. Spent 30 minutes rearranging the moving truck and putting boxes upside down.
Damaged several items while packing them into the truck.
Loaded the truck inefficiently.
The only thing I can say is that they worked fairly hard, but it was a mess.
