We started a labor marketplace where the little guys can compete right along side the big guys. We truly believe in an open system where the best get all the opportunity and the worst lose out. This is why we never filter customer reviews and we require all service providers to post their final prices up front.
So, we love fairness… but the world is appallingly unfair.
There are deep injustices and parts of the world where the young and the weak are subjugated and exploited. When you think about it, it's almost more than one can bear. So, we decided early on (and by "early on" we mean when there were two of us) that we were going to do what we could as a company. As HireAHelper grows, we'll continue to give more to aid and relief efforts that we believe in.
International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems.
“I first became aware of child sex slaves about 5 years ago. I was appalled that modern governments would look away as innocent children were enslaved and raped on a massive scale (tens of thousands in Thailand alone). Although there are a few organizations doing a lot of good all over the world, the International Justice Mission stood out as having the most effective long term plan to abolish slavery. They have rescued thousands of children from slavery and worked to enforce laws that will prevent countless others from ever entering the same situation.”

Promise Child Ministries provides food, clothing, shelter, and education to children in need in Uganda, Nepal, Sudan, America, and India.
Why Promise Child?
This charity is one that we came into contact with years ago, and it has the backing of many local churches and organizations from Southern California (where HireAHelper is based). We like the simplicity of the organization and the system: partner with locals, identify families and children in need, and help them out.
