We were really dreading our move - especially considering how miserable the heat can be in July in Austin. HG Movers made the process as painless as possible. Drake and Vincent were as knowledgeable, efficient, and professional as they come. If you need any help with a move in Central Texas, I can't recommend HG Movers enough.

Wow,an amazing job by HG Movers. It was very hot but the guys were very active and did the work in a timely manner. No extra time needed, so it was well worth it.

I definitely would recommend them to all my friends who are moving.

- They arrived 2 hours late. (They gave a one hour window and arrived just over 2 hours past when that window ended.)
- They did not arrive prepared to move a piano as I had previously arranged. (I selected this group because they said they could move pianos, but not only had the movers who came never moved a piano before, they were not even told by their management that a piano would be part of this move and did not bring any equipment to help with moving the piano. They nearly destroyed the piano in the process of moving.)
- They did not complete the job, even with an extra hour. (They spent about half of the scheduled time figuring out how to do the piano, which meant they wouldn't have had time to complete the rest of the move without hustling. Two of the four guys who showed up had a lot of hustle and good work ethic, one spent the majority of the time on his phone and barely moved anything, and another was nice and chatty but didn't do nearly as much as the other two. Instead of getting four movers, it felt like I got two and a half.)
- Their management seems incompetent. (As in the previous example, their management did not prepare them for any of the jobs assigned. Clearly earlier jobs in the day were far beyond what they were expecting and thus took hours longer than they should have. Obviously they were unprepared for my piano. Additionally, when confronted about some of the issues with the move, the manager was nothing but blame on ME for somehow not preparing his guys for this move.)
- At the end of the day, I had to do some serious lifting to finish up the move and I was not able to hit the road until after midnight instead of 5 hours earlier as planned. Additionally, the piano (antique, family heirloom) is in really rough shape after the inexperience of the guys. I don't really blame the movers themselves - even the 'lazier' movers had been moving stuff literally all day and were probably super ready to be done by the time they got to me. I absolutely blame incompetent management for 1) not preparing his guys for the move, 2) running his guys ragged before they ever showed up to my move, and 3) falsely advertising services they were not equipped to provide. I definitely gave these guys a hard job, that's why I hired help in the first place, but these guys really fell short of the mark. I would not use this service again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. I hope the guys doing the moving get better management.

Mover's response:
It is never our intention to have a dissatisfied customer. However, in the event that occurs, we do ensure that we exhausted every option in making sure the customer is taken care of as efficiently and professionally as possible. Our company can’t control morning jobs overflowing into the afternoon schedule, especially if the customer is paying for the time they are using. That’s why the time windows are emphasized as ESTIMATES. The crew went above and beyond for all customers that specific day and are more than capable of any move presented to them, provided the right materials and preparation. Management was aware of the piano. Management was not aware of the customer not being willing to disassemble said piano (at least removing the legs to safely turn corners). Our company does provide the service of moving pianos and there were multiple crew members on scene w/ experience moving pianos. Given there was no piano specific equipment provided or requested, the crew should have been permitted to disassemble the piano. That option was declined, putting our movers in a position to move a fully assembled, upright piano, down three flights of stairs. That’s not a task any moving company would recommend. Ours is no different. Management explained this to the customer and the customer was unwilling to compromise. We do wish the customer all the best and safe travels.

I needed movers to help unload a large truck at my daughter’s new apartment and these gentlemen Totally Outdid themselves. As a mom, I needed everything to be perfect and run smoothly…Drake, Jeff and Durrell did just that and more! I have a deep appreciation for a company such as Drake owns that takes his job personally and is so respectful and courteous!! I have made 15 moves now for my daughter but have never wrote a review for movers. As I said these men went over the expectations I had and deem them as men of integrity. Sadly, you don’t find that enough anymore. If you are trying to decide whether to use them or not, you won’t regret Anything if you do! I appreciate them So So Much! Great job guys!!
